Hello Lisa Pardon, Andy does a LIVE show now, here on KZbin a 3:00pm Hawaii Time on Tuesdays and Thursdays (you'll have to do the math for the show time your own time zone :) Think you'll like it! Andy carefully crafts together his own music videos of the islands, and presents them on the show. Plus, we all get to talk story with Andy in real time.

I lived in hawaii during my 20s and I tell people that I lived the retired life, (not really) when I was able to physically enjoy it. I work 3-11 Shift at Grand Wailea on Maui, and surf almost everyday before work. No better way to spend the day than at the beach in the water. Never got rich financially, but my life was rich with health and good times. Mahalo, Andy, and see you tomorrow.

So bruddah, you made tears go streaming down my face right now as this is exactly why we moved here with our keiki's 10 months ago from Cali. The aloha life is so deep and full and relationships are at the core. That lesson from the old surfer was gold and I've had many give me the same message. Life is too short to chase money and have no time. Love your channel after looking up what da kine means last week. Totally understood the brah at Napa the other day telling me da kine parts I need fix after busting a hose in Waipio Valley🤙🏽 Mahalo!

Hi Andy, your surfing story is very profound indeed. I used to live in Hawaii in my younger days never had learned and time to surf. Transplanted myself in Silicon Valley. People here are in a rat race, very busy making money to make ends meet. Now, I am in my mid-50s, with weight issues, retired and wished I can surf. Life is short. Enjoy every moment of it!

Andy so true about the 4 day work week. We moved to Hawaii in 1968. My father got hired by Albert Rego, Rego's Purity Portuguese sausage, (da bes!). to run the production factory on Kawaihao street. the workers would not work all 5 days cuz "no need. get nuff kala," "oama runnin" or "surf up das why." so he had tried to pay them an extra a $20 a week IF they showed up all 5 days. M -F. even den no work, cuz "no need".... dos were da days....

It broke my heart to hear of an 8-year old hearing his parents tell him how much of an inconvenience he is. When my younger daughter was 3 or so she came into the living room and went to sit next to my wife. I grabbed onto her and said "I wanna hold the baby" and my older daughter (9 at the time) joined in. Soon everyone surrounded the young one and was saying "No, I wanna hold the baby" until she yelled, "You have to share Baby!"That has become a running joke in the family. Yes, take time to enjoy your kids. T'anks, Andy!

Andy, we've all been on the Circle Island tour. How about starting a Pidgin Hawaii tour, even if only once a week! Waianae, Makaha, Kaena Point, all da secret surfholes, secret places for true island food, plenny comedy from guide (you!), etc. See the "real" Hawaii, not just the tourist stuff. Stop at your fav places on "cool" side of Oahu, and help local businesses in process. No losers, all win. Fun! Think on it, brah!
@Gypsyboy9328 жыл бұрын
I like that idea. When I was there (Oahu) recently on vacation, I explored the areas a guidebook hinted to stay away from. Some of the places you mentioned. Why travel so far to hang with other tourists in crowded Waikiki, when you can check out the local scene and learn your way around? A few years ago I traveled to Maui and needed some minor help - I could not believe how naturally friendly and helpful the people were.
@thejdubb438 жыл бұрын
There is a reason why they are called secret spots. #luckywelivehawaii
@Gypsyboy9328 жыл бұрын
+thejdubb43 Yeah, I agree. Surf spots should be a no no, but overall it's a good idea (easy for me to say). Supporting local small businesses. Andy is great with his camera(s) out in the field. One of the best videos I've seen is his shopping in an Office Max. I think its called "Small Moments".

Some people that are flown here not grown here(like me..22yrs ago) will get it and understand, sadly some will not..i have had to hustle and hold on with 2 hands at the same time, others who try to change Hawaii to suit themselves miss out on so much.
