Here is the thing, the reason that these people continually get elected is that people who like these guys are the ones who are actually voting in elections. I am a proud liberal, and I am ashamed to say I did not vote in midterm elections until last fall at the age of 25, I should have done it sooner, but I am hardly the only one to make that mistake. Our votes matter, and by not voting we share a piece of the blame for allowing people like this to take control of Congress last fall, and we as a community share a piece of the blame for allowing these people to dominate our government for much of our history as a Nation. Political surveys throughout the country demonstrate that most Americans do not agree with the people shown in the video above, but surveys mean nothing. The right wing hacks who DO agree with them are the ones who vote them into the office with strong resolve, fund raise for them, show up to city hall meetings, picket on the street, and raise all hell if they don't get their way. DECISIONS ARE MADE BY THOSE WHO SHOW UP, AND THEY SHOW UP MORE THAN WE DO. They don't play nice either, they bash "Liberals" so much that they have turned it into a dirty word, and Liberals caved at one point by trying to change their label to "Progressives", which was a profound act of cowardice in my opinion. We cave in such ways quite often in fact. We should be labeling Tea Party Republicans and FOX News analysts for what they are. Bigoted, Xenophobic, Willfully Uniformed, Dishonest hacks who view anything that goes against their ideology as the enemy and must be verbally attacked with no regard for factual evidence. We need to take off the kids gloves and get in the fight, and we need to respect that power that we all have only if we do so together as a larger community. Let us become aware of these issues, let us rally among those who agree, let us debate with those who respectfully disagree and let us vehemently oppose those who disrespectfully disagree. But more than anything else, just vote people.

I think it would have been hilarious to troll the republicans and tea party by making the State of the Union Address as "content rich" as the responses were. No mention of issues or specifics, just some meandering rants about plastic bags over shoes, and the "geographic roster" of a high school basketball team. They'd be like, "WTF was that?" And Ernst's "job" was to "humanize" the republican party? If that's an admission the party needs "humanizing", does that not indicate a problem of some sort? I thought they thought they had a finger on the pulse of the nation. A nation of....humans.

But I digress (to quote some old attorney that I know) Or you could spell it for me (not trying to be sarcastic) i hope you know I'm just kidding LOL but did I mention that the teacher finally let me walk in my wet socks and I was still crying because my new white socks were wet and stained with shoe dye which doesn't come out in the wash and my mom was gonna be so upset that I ruined a brand new pair of socks.
