Does anyone remember when this was first aired? It was in January 1979, a week before the Steelers-Cowboys Super Bowl XIII. And the ratings for the movie exceeded the ratings for the game. Yes, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders were a hot item in those days.

I used to have this on VHS and have been trying to find this for YEARS, even here!!! No luck. I think it's come into the spotlight because the DCC Making the Team is on currently on CMT and Pluto TV now has a DCC channel showing all the first 12 seasons. How amazing that I haven't seen this film for years, but when the music started, I remembered "Sunday Afternoon Fever" Thanks for the upload, for as long as the DCC allow it to be on, anyway!

This movie is a bit silly with a poor script, but Jane Seymour looks amazing and extremely beautiful and that's worth the entire movie. Ellen Bry as Joanne also looks very beautiful. The producers of the film could have done something more dignified for the cheerleaders than just showing them off as pretty dumb dolls.

I was a little boy (5th grade) when this movie came out and I sure did watch it on ABC. My gawd everyone of these women are flawless. Even some of the girls who didn't make the squad were natural beauties. Good movie. I usually watch it like every 3 months. Props to Bert Convey, too. He was 70s hot!

1) This was a movie. Also, many of the actual Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders were in the film, and the majority were from Texas. As a matter of fact, one of the original cheerleaders, Vonciel Baker, was in the film. The DCC's choreographer, the late Texie Waterman played herself. 2) The cheerleaders back then came from all walks of life and age ranges (University students to career women to housewives/mothers to grandmothers even). They were not expected to have professional dance training. 3) Today's DCC are trained dancers, under 30 years of age, and a good number are not Texans or even Americans.

Bucky Dent was not a football player. He just played one in the movie. In real life, he was actually a New York Yankees baseball player and a World Series Most Valuable Player in 1978.

I’m planning on buying this movie on dvd since I’m a Cowboys fan and to this day I’ll keep saying this that the DCC ain’t the reason I’m a Cowboys fan and my reason as to why I’m a Cowboys fan is because of the 5 Super Bowls we won in franchise history. Overall I like this movie and I would like to see one made right now in the 2020’s with basically the same plot and I don’t know what beautiful woman would be a good fit for a current day movie like that.

I believe this was back when the cheerleaders used to cheer for free. Just being on the team was enough. Tryouts were easier then....just do a few disco steps. :D Of course I wished that I was on the dance squad so I could do a TV movie too!!

A TOUCH OF CLASS. Exactly 2 weeks later, the package was delivered at the reception desk of my high school here in Laval and i am happy to say, that i still have it in the same way i received it on that day, exactly 43 years ago.
