Xiaowan Hydropower Station, in Wuliang Mountain on the Lancang River in China, is a world-renowned project housing the tallest arch dam - 100m higher than the Three Gorges Dam. Deemed the "most difficult" hydropower station, it was constructed amidst strong water pressure and complex geology. Possessing 4.2 million kilowatts installed capacity, Xiaowan generates electricity while facilitating downstream shipping and irrigation. Its environmental commitment and efficient operation model have set new standards in hydropower, all while transforming local economies and lifting living conditions.
