It’s fascinating to me how well the NBA marketing machine works. I like Lilard. I never really watched his teams games before or after he joined the Bucks but I had a very favourable view of him as a player. I actually enjoyed when I would see him in highlights of games or top 10 countdowns (all part of the marketing machine). It would make me feel good to see him play just from watching him in the odd game and more frequently in those highlights and clips. So much so that I got defensive on his behalf when you started trashing him. But 30 seconds in and I am saying to myself “damn! He’s not wrong! OMG I have been totally manipulated into this positive view of this player!” And it’s the same story video after video after video you put out. It’s fascinating and horrifying at the same time.

@@kingquestOZ Lillard is still a great iso scorer. But that is a very specific skill and that is why players like that struggle to fit into systems. And keep in mind I’m only using this video and Lillard himself as an example of this phenomenon. I have noticed in with the majority of “superstars” of the league. They are all great iso scorers but struggle when it comes to playing team ball: running plays properly, defending properly, consistency etc. And this is unsurprising given the leagues evolution towards scoring and away from defence over the last 10 years. I mean you can take it right back to Jordan’s revitalisation of the league popularity. He is the goat because he got his skills in every aspect of the game up to elite level but all the league wanted to promote was his scoring. Most fans from later eras I see doing reactions are like a broken record “oh man, I never knew he had that defence!” It’s like queue the Russel Westbrook “Whaaaaat? Man you trippin’” clip! MJ was all defence first team like 8 (10?) seasons! He got sick of people saying he had bad defence and deliberately set out to and DID win Defensive Player of the Year! In the same year! NBA has been on a crash course to flashy scorers who can’t really play the whole game for decades and now we are hear. And it’s trash.

I watched one of these videos about someone being an awful coach, and thought it was good content. Then I scrolled his channel and realized he made these videos about EVERYONE. 100% of NBA coaches can’t be terrible… it’s literally not possible. So I decided he’s not credible and decided to forget his channel exists.

That's why you don't let star players dictate GM duties. The Bucks were fine last season. They simply overreacted after losing in the first round. Giannis was hurt and barely played in that series. I'm not saying it was a guarantee that they would've beat Miami with a healthy Giannis, but without him they had NO CHANCE.

I genuinely dont know what dame is doing. Very weird. Guess standards dont really apply and your game isnt actually looked at if youre always on a non-contending team. Dame plays no defense and his team offense is HORRIBLE. The only thing he can do is play solo. Guess people only judged him to be a good player based on his shot making but man when it comes to fundamental team basketball (which you need to win basketball at the highest level and win chips), he does not seem to have any of it. Its actually sad to see. He NEEDS to get his stuff together and do better.

I KNEW this wouldn't work, Lillard is overrated, and NOT a top 75 all time player. He's over players such as Vince Carter, and Dikembe Mutombo, ridiculous. Lillard has thrived being a medium sized fish, in a small(portland) pond. He's played the dreaded 'hero ball' his entire career, so he goes to the bucks, an actual team with championship aspirations, and struggles because he doesn't know how to play within a team, and his circus, half court shots aren't going to win him anything.

If dame just came to the raptors he have a contender to compete with. Would of been dame, og, scottie, pascal, and jakob. He would had the defence to cover his deficiencies and would have had scottie and pascal to handle the playmaking, and dame can do what he does best just score. Well 😅 good luck in milwakee with doc

I swear when other coaches fail in the NBA they have to prove themselves in college to get another chance in the league.... unless of course your name is Doc Rivers. Then you can coach teams to losses in the playoffs every year because that one time KG and Allen won a ring for you. Honestly shout outs to the Bucks front office for ruining Giannas' prime.

hes not comfortable running the pnr with the bucks he seems very unsure of himself, which is shocking considering hes been one of the best pnr executors in the league the past 7 years. in 2019 he had 4 of the top 10 pnr combinations for scoring & efficiency. I think he will find his form again, at his best he is a pnr master.
