The Damned - Looking At You / Original Album Version ( Audio Only) 1979

From their third studio album, Machine Gun Etiquette. A cover of the MC5 classic. I've put up the Live In Newcastle one as well.There you will hear some amazing guitar from a guy who had got to No 1 with a bloody Rogers and Hammerstein song that very year. Unbelievable.
Line up on this one is Algy Ward, bass, Dave Vanian, vocals, Rat Scabies, drums and Captain Sensible guitars and keyboards.
I've just been on Machine Gun Etiquette's section of Wikipedia and there appears to be a whole bunch of Damned outtakes from that era. So I suggest you all give it a check either there or YT. 1964chrissie has uploaded the 7" version of Noise Noise Noise. At long last.

this is a great cover and there still excellent to see live. the captain is an awesome guitarist

I found this track incredible when I bought the LP as a callow 13 year old. Very handy track to have when people say punks didn't know how to play. But it also got me into MC5. This is a brilliant cover. So was the Stranglers' Walk On By, and Husker Du's Byrds cover 8 Miles High.

Once again they hammer the original. Only time they didn't was Citadel and Alone Again Or when they equaled the originals. And Citadel was a totally different way of doing the song.

@skrewdriver1968 I know. After Sensible left, a lot of the personality went. Too dour. Old bootlegs with Sensible on them 80- 84 were great cos of all the rabbit between songs. He was colorful and funny. Great guitar solos. That's why I got into the guitar- cos of him. But
