I was 16 and was growing up in a village outside of Bordeaux. When we went back to school in september there were a few kids who had been lucky enough to go to the festival during the summer holidays and they were raving about it. We used to take it in turn and have records listening 'parties' at each others houses on a saturday afternoon. One of those afternoons one girl turned up with a few punk records. That is how I found out about the Damned. I still love them.

I hitched a lift to be there. The Jam refused to play because there was a problem with money. The Clash & Little Bob Story also played.

Talk about raw. Good.to see this after forty years. The songs on the first album have turned out to be timeless classics still being played today. Some have even been covered by other bands. As good today as back then methinks.

How many of you are that old that you even remember no colour TV's or your Mobile phone let alone rockin up to the record shop to buy The Damned records? I fucking well did ! I can waffle on but I love The Damned! Mobiles werent a thing in the 80's

I think its Lu on guitar, some people on here are saying that John moss is drumming, but i assumed that moss only auditioned fir the damned !! All quite interesting though. Sensible looks odd with his wooly hairdo too. 👍
