Actually a lot of the events are taken directly from historical events and other fictional works of note. He is a great storyteller though. Truly one of the greatest of our time. You should learn more about the man. His is an interesting story as well...

Regarding Rhaenyra bleeding on the Iron Throne it would be very hard for Eustace to fabricate the truth as there were many witnessed at the ceremony. Rhaenyra also might have wore some ceremonial armor - kind of illustrated in the novel, that doesn't cover all her body, since she only landed when all deemed it was safe for her. Moreover it is mentioned in another passage as repeating occurance: "In the fullness of her victory, Rhaenyra Targaryen did not suspect how few days remained to her. Yet every time she sat the Iron Throne, its cruel blades drew fresh blood from her hands and arms and legs, a sign that all could read."

I think if Cersei is in charge of Kingslanding while the faith is opening the gates for Aegon and JonCon that Cersei will succeed where Aerys failed and burn down all of Kings Landing with wild fire. Jamie kills Cersei for doing the thing he threw his honor away trying to prevent when Cersei was one of the few people who would know why he really killed Aerys.
