I live in California and literally every store that I go to has the Prop 65 Warning: " WARNING: This product may contain chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm." Especially the plastic things at Dollar Tree. When I was younger I was really worried about it. Now I realize that plastic is everywhere and you can't really avoid it 100% of the time. But I still try to avoid it as much as I can. I mostly have glass containers, bowls and cups. Remember the four R's: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and most importantly *Refuse*

2:02 what you say is actualy wrong. If bisphenol-a would go out of the monomer when heat is brought into the system the PC would dissolve. One of the great advanteges of advanteges of PC is, that it has a Glastemperature of 150°C ( since it is amorph it has no melting temp.) which actually means that the BPA would not go out of the monomer until a tempreature of 280°C.

I wish the food industry would get a clue. More and more things are put into plastic. It has become more and more difficult to get foods in glass. I avoid plastic for most of my food stuffs from the shop where possible. Due to the fact the food doesn't store well or as long. Now from this video, even more reasons to avoid the stuff. True not all can be avoided. Also when I have to use plastic, I use things like butter dishes and Ice-cream dishes to keep my food in. They are made to keep food long term. Safer than using the plastic lunch box that is bought from a shop. They don't have the same stringent requirements when made.

But does storage matter if the food already came in plastic? I have silicone sleeves and Pyrex for food storage but how do you get around meats, fruits, eggs, milk that come in plastic? Where I’m from there’s Walmart and Aldi... and that’s it. One needs to consider practically + budget as well.

"You don't want to store your food in plastics because some of those plastics will leech into your food...." Indeed, you can store your food in glass containers, BUT what if you desire to take your food with you to work? Glass is extremely impractical top use while traveling because it is heavy and the plastic top does not seal well. In my opinion, as long as the food is stored cold, it is ok to store food in plastic.
