Shebeshxt is a best example of what broken families can breed, broken families breeds broken societies, let's not take it on him until we find a way to have organised families will have organised societies.

As much as he raps about his old life because it's what made him, he's left it behind and is a family man who takes his music career seriously and conducts himself professionally.. He's an inspiration through and through. But some people choose to focus on the negative while some kids remain ignorant that the story he shares is not to be emulated because he talks a lot about the consequences of such a life Blaming him for being a product of the social ills that made him in the first place is just shifting responsibility without addressing the real issues at play. We all need to play our part in fixing our society

At the end of the day, entertainment is entertainment... If we were to excise violent lyrical threads from songs, purportedly out of concern for their impact on the younger generation, it logically follows that a commensurate scrutiny should extend to the realms of film, comedy and video games. Grant the artisans the latitude to exercise their craft with finesse, as the responsibility of guiding and grounding offspring resides squarely within the purview of familial stewardship(more specifically, parents). Attributing undue blame to musicians like Shebe or any other artist is a misguided endeavor, as they are but conduits for their artistic expression. I love your work bro, highly informative and well layed out. Keep it up.
@melodicwisdom321
@melodicwisdom321 Жыл бұрын
Bad influence cannot be masked by what you premise to be mere "entertainment" or perhaps "artistry". It is the chief responsibility of the influential person, regardless of vocation or sphere, to keep watch of the detrimental elements of his sway. More pertinently to the craft of music. Since it has been established to be incredibly persuasive in nature apropos the human soul. Lending the high duty of grounding solely to familial pruning, yet failing to condemn the filth spewed from high - inspirational places, is rather counter productive and ill conceived. “If one should desire to know whether a kingdom is well governed, if its morals are good or bad, the quality of its music will furnish the answer.” ― Confucius
@refilwemokoene2922
@refilwemokoene2922 Жыл бұрын
@@melodicwisdom321 I disagree, As parents and adults, our responsibility lies in guiding the paths our children traverse through the realm of art, rather than laying blame on the artists themselves. Growing up surrounded by hip hop, with its tales of gang life and drugs, we somehow emerged unscathed, a testament to the resilience of our generation. Even as our parents navigated their own coming-of-age, art often portrayed themes of promiscuity. When we consider the vast array of artistic forms, films, comic books, music, video games, theatre, it prompts reflection. Should we really condemn all artists? Do we erase Shakespeare's "Merchant of Venice" or "Othello" due to their exploration of desires/lust? The question persists: where do we draw the line and take responsibility, removing constraints on artists? In the current climate, restrictions on comedic expression have emerged, with white comedians cautioned against jokes about black people, and straight comedians treading carefully around LGBTQ topics. Let's rather champion the autonomy of artists. Allow them the freedom to be artists, while we, as parents, choose and guide what our kids encounter in the vast landscape of creativity. It's about embracing the simplicity of making mindful choices amidst the rich tapestry of artistic expression.

A documentary should be done about lekompo so that le tlo tlogela gorr fafatlela , Shebe just popularised the genre and changed how it used to be prior to when he started .. The Genre is mainly about everything that happens on the streets , the hoods like any other Hood in SA.. Beats are Tribal Music but Sped up , hence the fast paced beats.. Major Artists like Monadw , Makhadzii used to make such music but switched once they got into record labels. Now we have the likes of Shandesh , Kharishma ,Snowflake , 071 Nelly , Master Chuza , Mr621 dj Dance , Titi kgole to name a few , Everyone makes a different type of music within the genre Shebe made the Genre to be Recognised outside Limpopo and the way he raps it's a reflection of his lifestyle ... It's intellectually dishonest to say Shxbeshxt is the cause of increasing instability in SAn communities. The same could be said about many people/things out there. The way I see it, Shebe is a mirror that has been raised in front of us as SAn's, many people who gaze into this mirror see themselves and feel recognised because what they see in the mirror is a "successful" version of themselves, as such they feel seen and empowered whereas they normally wouldn't. Let's face it, Shebe is an outlier, there are many people like him throughout SAn society except 99% are not successful by any metric. They are oftentimes violent people who are victims of their own circumstances. The behaviour of many young people in SA can be explained as "waking up from a bad dream but only to find out it was never a dream, it's real life". The youth are angry, restless, hopeless and disillusioned as a result. You would be too if all your life you lived in relative poverty, and saw whatever opportunities that existed disappear. The only people who seemed to survive in such an environment were criminals and lawbreakers. If we want to get rid of negative influences from our societies we have to build and support positive things and not pray and expect a magical dude to come down from the sky to do it.

Hi,let me start by saying I love the content of this channel,very interesting! I do however have to disagree with something about what "Makompo" is perceived to be in this video. Makompo is a music genre like any other...from gqom,amapiano,bacardi,maskandi all the way to rnb&hip hop. In this case Shebe(love his music btw shxta!) meant to say that *he* chose to use this genre to create music about his "thug life" ,the same way any artist can choose any genre to express themselves.This does not necessarily *define* the genre because we have your Makhadzi ,King monada ,master kg and more making music in the same genre.

The Lady from Klerksdorp is complaining about something thats been going on for a very long time, I was born there and Knives are things we saw while we still were in Primary School. Walking back from school, seeing gangstas fighting every now and then was like blinking. A grade 5 would be part of a gang imagine, She cant use ShABA for something thats been there for years, kgale rebona ma 28 fighting ma 25 or Vatos Locos(VL) or Crazy Dogs or what ever. inside a class during free period, you would hear kids arguing about (number) then after school just know someone is gona die

good art is about sharing experiences and perspectives. his music is just him doing just that, much like film and photography, it puts you in the front seat of someone else's life. its the reason the bible is written as stories rather than a set of instructions. we learn best through experiences. Blame the parents who let their kids listen to his music. and sorrows for those who go unsupervised. he is both a culprit and a victim. no one is good or bad, we are all just cocktails.
