It should be noted that patients don’t actually pay the full 800k ever. It’s convenient for hospitals to lower the actual bill by a ton (roughly 70% of the bill is removed, and 10-20% is payed by insurance). The patient pays at most 10% of the total bill, still a lot of money in the case of kidney transplants but not 800k, and that 70% gets “lost” and is turned into tax deductibles, so the hospital doesn’t have to pay taxes. No, they'll try to make you pay it if you don't have insurance. Went to the hospital for a kidney stone. Sat in the ER for 6 hours before I saw the first person. Was out 20 minutes later with them saying there's nothing they can or will do. Bill was 8k just to wait one someone to show up. They keep resending that bill every 4 months. I sure as hell ain't paying it.

6:40 you gotta try the quarter pounders those are usually required to be made fresh every time (even if they are sloppily put together most of the time) but the normal patties often sit in the heated drawer that they sit in for up to half an hour (and thats if the mcdonalds throws out their food thats too old like theyre supposed to but most dont and that ends up with a lot of hour old food on slow nights), the normal patties are used for the big mac's and the normal cheeseburgers/ burgers so i would always recommend a quarter pounder (never get mayo on it, that costs extra and you can usually just ask for a free few packets of mayo)

from what i gather about the 800k and just expensive medical procedures in general, the never actually intend for you to pay that full price. much like college tuition the prices for medical stuff is inflated so you're forced to get insurance that would likely pay out far more than you ever could in one sitting and then a lot of what isnt paid is just used as a way to avoid taxes so unless you dont have insurance/ havent opted into the indecipherable shitshow that is the healthcare support systems then you wont technical have to worry about the big number... if you have that procedure covered
