Cool video. People in the future will say similar things about plastic food containers and micro plastics inside everything today.

Thank you! I think a lot about what the next dangerous thing from history will be in the future. I vote micro-plastics all the way.

Do one on lead paint! The US didn't ban it until the 1970s!

Was that wallpaper still around in 1925? My home as a child had old wallpaper and I never thought about it being toxic, There were never pests there. Hmmm

My oc has an arsenic color on her dress! Her name is Marylynn, and she's a demon who takes the form as a Victorian girl. She runs the Hall of the Damned, which is a place for people who made their own Hell. She's the main antagonist. The color of her dress, (And the reason the people in the Halls of the damned don't get to close to her.) is London Purple. London Purple was a arsenic color. people wanted it since it was a vibrant color!

This was great information AND answers the question of why British literature is filled with swooning ladies and beautiful youngsters wasting away.

Heavy metals are essential nutrients, and can't cause harm in small amounts. They accumulate, because the body needs more.

THEY WOULD EAT IT WILLINGLY? EVEN THOUGH THEY KNEW???
@sugarplum5824
@sugarplum5824 11 ай бұрын
They weren't eating it. It was absorbed through the skin from the green clothing they wore and inhaling it from the wallpaper and paints. Either way is deadly.

Well in the case of children, it was likely very young toddlers who didn't know any better and probably recognized the bright color as something similar to candy. The average person wasn't eating it willingly.
