I am an American black woman and I have been coming to Jamaica every 3 months for the past 12 yrs I became friends with a Jamaican woman that I thought was my friend and she even came to stay in the US with me for 2 weeks because she was working as a caretaker and the patient died so she had no more work and nowhere to stay I explained to her that I was in the process of moving so I won't keep a lot of food in my refrigerator and that she had to help buy if she is staying she said ok. When we go to the store I was buying my son and grandchildren a few outfits so, she started putting clothes, shoes and things for her husband and kids in the basket when we got to the counter to pay I took my few items out and left hers in the basket she then start loading her things on the counter and the guy asked if everything was together and she shouted yes she thought I was going to buy all this stuff for her family lol. so, she started putting the items back and I said why you not getting them and she replied I don't have no money. I think that is so rude that you would just assume someone is going to pay for your items you don't know how much money I have or if I can afford it. Also when I got married in jamaica she said she wanted to cook for the wedding and it was a gift for me and my husband so I let her do it. Now, my husband is Jamaican and he said already that he didn't trust her after the ceremony the wedding party was going out to celebrate she decided to stay at the house we rented because she said she was tired we came back early because the place we were going to party it was not open yet, when we pulled up she had her husband to come to get her and they were leaving we get in the house and she stole all the liquor, food, and cooking oil that I brought my husband and his brother called her and curse her and the husband out my husband brother works with her husband and she didn't know it now her husband is embarrassed she is a thief so I cursed her out and tell her to lose my number. My husband tried to warn me this is the way of some Jamaican people RUDE AND THIEFS!

As a black American I have to say this. My first husband was black American like me, both of us are from Louisiana. He turned out to be the most evil moron I ever meet. The only good thing came out of that was my beautiful daughter. My second husband was from Jamaica. He looked a like my favorite Jamaican singer Dennis Brown. He was the most wonderful man I ever meet. He helped me raise my daughter. He never raise he voice at me nor did we fight. When I got angry and Creole would fly out of my mouth. He would just set their quite and when I calm down he would hold me and say I love you my women. He passed away many years ago. I am a harpist and he played the kora. We loved to make music together. I never married again. Because I know I will never find another man like my baby. He was born in Kingston Jamaica I was born in Mamou Louisiana. I felt him when my daughter and I went through Hurricane Laura. We were in our apartment in lake Charles Louisiana where my daughter was born. So for my part No not all Jamaicans are a like. Unless they just want to be that way.

I live in Canada, only been to Jamaica once. The only thing I can say about Jamaicans is they are the most friendly, passionate and real people i've met. I never felt as a white guy that i was unwanted or looked at differently. Men and women always have issues, but we need to love one another and take care of one another. Much love and respect to Jamaica and it's wonderful people
