So grew up Mormon and had a huge faith crisis and a mental breakdown! PTSD with so many panic attacks I am a king of panic attacks anxiety and depression. anyway another Christian friend at work gave me a 30 day journal with 30 bible scriptures and her testimony. And each scripture talked about how God was meriful and loving and full of Grace and on your side. SHe also got me into Christian Music wich calmed down. I never knew that most Christian songs are about anxiety and depression... thank you PLUMB and FIREFLIGHT! Anyway they always sang about this Grace... And one day it hit me like a ton of Bricks.. I felt so much Love and forgiveness.. So then I asked God what I needed to do in return. what covenant do you want me to make? Do I need to be a Jesus Freak now? Born again? he said no! So I asked again what do you want? He said NOTHING!! then I fell to my knees crying.

oh yeah I forgot to say that after that experience the panic attacks stopped I have never had once since. I have climbed out of Hell it took a while. But "Not perfect"... not even close to perfect Im always flawed. (Mormons use the phrase "leaders aren't perfect" to justify all of their sins and weaknesses. But I tell them I never expected anyone to be perfect except Jesus. I expected them to be prophet seers and revilators. and to do your DANG job! Not be pharisees!! Oh And I love Elder Uctdorf he seems to understand all of this and he is GOOD & secretly changing everything with Love and Grace!

Thank you for openly sharing your story! I love hearing how God pursued you through his word. Psalm 34:18 - “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” May you always rest in his grace.

I wish everyone in the church would ask that question- why do the anti Mormons know more about our history than we do. They just think we lie.

This is very true, so much deceit! A very unbiblical doctrine.

Yes, but the opposite. There is no Church more Biblical than the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Granted, it isn't based on the Catholic Creeds.

The whole notion that Mormons aren’t allowed to question things is…. False at best. Taboo, yes. But you’re correct that James 1:5 should be applied to all. Especially in the past decade, seeking answers to questions about the church is admirable and frankly a must nowadays. The church is very transparent. I can understand the “culture” in the 1900’s was different about questions on the church and its history but ultimately, the church now has it all laid out. Exmormons don’t have any “gotchas” like they think they do.

I'm glad that you are able to ask questions. Keep asking. Ask a lot of questions.

This isn’t really true because most active members will not read anything that is negative even if the church has put it on their website now

Tell that to Nemo the Mormon! All he did was ask questions publicly and got excommunicated. He asked genuine real questions and got excommunicated. You're allowed to ask questions, but only the questions they want you to ask. Otherwise you are considered to be an apostate. You're not allowed to ask real questions and receive real answers about the history. The church is so far from being transparent, all while claiming transparency.
