Yes. Space heaters are dangerous if used inside the home. That's why I always put them out in the backyard where it's safe.

Be Very Very Careful When Using Spase Heaters Like They Said Keep Everything Away From Them

Like almost any household product, maximum safety can be assured simply by using common sense and practicing situational awareness. Space heaters are no acception whether they are propane, kerosene or electric. With electric space heaters in particular, a few things may not be as obvious. For example the commonly used two wire household extension cords can get dangerously overheated if used to power a space heater since most heaters draw 1500 watts on the highest setting. Same could happen to a worn outlet that doesn't grip the prongs tightly. Homes built in or which had wiring added between 1965 and 1975 are especially at risk for electrical hazards when large loads are drawn since aluminum wiring was most likely used instead of copper, and aluminum had a tendency to expand and wiggle loose when heated and cooled repeatedly over the years.

Just treat a space heater like an inside campfire, use your head.

Please dont put your blankets in or on the oven either. Also, please do not light yourself on fire to warm yourself up. You'll risk serious injury or the possibility of death.

10-15 feet? My biggest room is not 15 feet across! My smoke detector was making noise so I removed it and threw it in the oven!

Just in case you didn't think of it, don't put flammable or combustible items on those burners while in operation. 🧐

As opposed to what, using them outside the home. People need to remember how to think, like we used to. Thumbs down 👎
