Those were the days. A different class altogether.

Wow, could Shirley Jones really sing like that? 🧐 What a voice with beauty too match.

That sassy lass Shirley Jones did just a bit of “crooning” as we used to call it… “Oklahoma” and “The Music Man” are a couple of my favorites. How about “The Partridge Family” and the variety shows of the 70’s? Kinda campy, but in a sweet and fun way. I couldn’t remember which numbers she performed with Sinatra and had to search it out, so let’s take it way back… Enjoy! kzbin.info/www/bejne/l2Obd5-Mftutb9ksi=Qf5Eh_XkL57qjrXe

I already knew Shirley could sing!

In addition to Shirley, there's another legendary guest--Danish-born Lauritz Melchior, a retired operatic tenor who sang at the Met for many years and was primarily known for singing the demanding lead roles in Wagner operas!

Shirley was in several Rogers and Hammerstein musicals when they discovered her at the tender age of 18. She's had an exciting career. She just turned 90 on March 31, 2024!

Mr. Thomas lived to open the doors, to keep them open for his children to prosper at St. Jude's Hospital. What a man! Remember Jerry Lewis and his yearly September MD marathon to help children? My sisters and I had our own marathon in our backyard....games, prizes, etc. to raise money for Jerry's kids. We were to pleased to send every penny to Jerry and his kids. He had his reasons, unbeknownst to most. Mr. Thomas, the same, for his children. God bless these lovely people. Yes, television was in a class all its own. Talent, talent, talent. I refuse to watch any television show made the past 40 years....except MASH! Now, it's ALL just mindless idiots behind a computer screen, blowing up things. NO TALENT.....Mae West said, "I remember when actresses were trying to be stars. Now, stars are trying to be actresses"......SO TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!
