@THE DARK KNIGHT'S REPUBLICAN Batman Begins was great, The Dark Knight was epic but The Dark Knight Rises was kind of... crap. Nolan didn't seem to give a crap anymore. Even the choreography was interesting to say the least. Seeing a guy fall over from nothing was hilarious. Good comedy but not a very good Batman movie.
@imperfect_dan75195 жыл бұрын
@@mahchestro9144 rises was amazing imo, it was great to see Bruce complete a 3 character arc and move on from being Batman. Bane and catwoman were simply show stealers
@mahchestro91445 жыл бұрын
@@imperfect_dan7519 Bane was... okay. He's supposed to be some kind of a genius but i didn't feel that in Dark Knight Rises. He was a lackey for Talia and it kinda pissed me off. The fight choreography was half assed throughout the movie. You can literally see a guy fall over for no reason at all during a fight. Catwoman was fine i guess. The movie was simply lazy.

Nolan was the only person ever, to give Batman a satisfying, happy ending. Ever comicbook Batman version, timeline and genre, has him either dying, or aging alone, unable to move on and pass the torch. He never gets a wife, kids and normal family, he never has a normal life. He is always Batman, he is always miserable, he is always alone, until he eventually dies just like that. That's just awful. Nolan allowed Batman to be Batman, but also move on, pass the torch and find happy, normal life with a woman he loves. That's the ending Batman deserves. Love the Dark Knight trilogy. It's hands down one of the best trilogies of all time, second probably only to LotR trilogy.

@G.S.Productions2 жыл бұрын
@@nihaalsandim9986 Well there is an old saying when it comes to movie sequels, not every sequel is better than the original. But that’s not to say that all sequels are bad. Some of them can be good but most of them are classics. The latter two “Dark Knight” movies, “The Empire Strikes Back”, “Toy Story 2 & 3”, “Kung Fu Panda 2”, “How To Train Your Dragon 2 & 3”, there’s plenty of them out there. But some sequels can be crap, like “Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed” and “Taken 2”, those are the prime examples of a sequel that cashed in and are made because “the original was a big hit, let’s throw in another sequel with no purpose to weave the story together.”. See what I’m getting at?

The Avengers is like strawberry milkshake to me. The Dark Knight Rises is the fruit cake. I like both, I don't like getting into pointless heated arguments on which is better. But I can be honest that at the time the two were coming out, I was more hyped about The Avengers because of the prospect of having these awesome heroes finally being together in one epic movie and delivers guns blazing with no disappointment whatsoever. The Dark Knight Rises is the opposite but its great in its own way. Everything is high stakes as well in the story and i give props for Nolan's adamant goal of having his Batman end in the third chapter instead of risking it becoming stale like the Burton Batman movies that did became stale and lame after he stopped directing. In any case, Joss Whedon and Christopher Nolan did their jobs perfectly. Like i said,strawberry milk shake and fruit cake. Both taste good and I like them both.

People say Alfred will never leave him. Well it's a different Alfred. A more fatherly one than just a mere butler or assistant. Hell even Ra's was like a father figure to Bruce in Begins. This Alfred made a promise to Thomas Wayne to protect what was dearest to him the most. Seeing Bruce going on suicide missions for all these years certainly takes its toll, and there comes a time he must say enough is enough, especially when he's coming up against Bane. The fact that Alfred could jeopardize his relationship with Bruce even if it meant leaving him so Bruce would change his mind makes this Alfred the most human of all Alfreds put to screen. We've seen these 2 have tender moments in the first 2 films which is why seeing them part is heartbreaking, at least to me. Don't forget Nolan's trilogy is more character driven than comical. Nolan's Batman coz there is no ONE way to tell Batman's story. I've never seen these characters as one Dimensional. They are fictional characters and as such can be reinvented and reinterpreted over and over again. It's how we've moved from Adam West's Batman to Batfleck today.

@tylermeeks81809 жыл бұрын
"Why do we fall?...So we can learn to pick ourselves up." Bruce had literally fallen to his lowest point inside of Bane's pit. In an interview that Chris, Jonathan, and Goyer did, Chris Nolan said that Gotham essentially became a proxy for Bruce's parents. Bruce dedicated his entire life attempting to undo the damage inflicted on him as a child by losing his parents. And in TDKR, we see him tenaciously will himself out of hell in order to save his city and the people living in it--ergo, the proxy to his lost parents. I've heard a lot of criticism directed at TDKR, I think rather harshly in some cases. I thought it was one of the most beautifully made films I've ever seen, and the greatest summation to an excellent trilogy. I also really enjoyed your theory of it being more of a historical epic--something Nolan actually said he was going for in the film on a radio show called the Treatment with Elvis Mitchell--but one that you really fleshed out in this video explaining all that it means. You were the first person I heard mention this take, and I heard the radio show sometime later and thought it was really intelligent that you perceived that intent so well in the film. Always love your reviews Jeremy, thanks!

The editing shows him in the cockpit up to late in the countdown, but it just shows him in the cockpit. Supposed the bat is designed the same way the batmobile is and can separate into 2 different vehicles? The let's say the cockpit can separate and has rocket engines to propel it away from the main body of the bat. That part keeps flying out into Gotham harbor while the cockpit escape pod rockets away in a different direction. All the while, Batman's still got the timer up and is still getting readouts from the main vehicle...which he can probably fly by remote control or just let the - working - autopilot do it's job.

I hasn't watched this in a while, and decided to put it on last week. I absolutely loved it when it first came out, an epic (though not flawless) conclusion to an epic trilogy. I had seen The Dark Knight so often (it is the best of the bunch, and hands-down the best superhero movie ever made), but I hadn't revisited this one in a while. Now, I will note, I watched this about a week after seeing Infinity War, and what I noticed as I was watching ,is how mature, even with its flaws, this film is compared to Infinity War. The dialogue, the themes, the acting, it all feels so adult-oriented even though it is essentially based on something intended for a much younger audience. I couldn't help but comparing the two films, and like Jeremy mentioned, it really is like comparing apples to oranges. What Nolan did with the DK trilogy is something truly spectacular. To have a set of films transcend a genre, to become something greater than what it was intended to be, is a rare feat indeed. TDKR isn't perfect, there are flaws in logic and timeline questions, but like its hulking antagonist, it's a bruiser of a film with themes that still resonate today. It concludes the trilogy in stirring fashion. If you haven't seen it in a while, I highly recommend checking it out again. The opening sequence, much like that of its predecessor, is, in and of itself, worth the price of admission.

It's super tough to say but there is quite a few of them and i do not have a specific order: The Dark Knight Trilogy, Captain America Trilogy, Toy Story Trilogy, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Hobbit Trilogy, Both Star Wars Trilogy's, Indiana Jones, Spider-Man Trilogy, Madagascar Trilogy, Back to the Future Trilogy and that's all I could think of. I don't know how I would rank any of these.
@galenmarek710710 жыл бұрын
For Trilogies it goes like this for me Original Star Wars > Dark Knight Trilogy > LOTR > Indiana Jones > Back to The Future > Terminator.

Indiana Jones has 4 movies... but then again the fourth one was bull shit and does not deserve to be in that series.

Batman has been shot in the stomach, stabbed, fallen off a 40 foot scaffolding, fell from a penthouse which must be way over 400 feet onto a taxi, survived a nuclear bomb blast, got a broken back and flew 3 storys from a building while on fire onto the concrete, and apparently is still alive at the end of this trilogy is still alive xD

In this movie Nolan took elements from the Batman comics: Origins Of Bane, Batman knightfall, The Dark Knight Returns and Bane Of The Demon and blended them to make a masterpiece in filmmaking. In terms of comic book accuracy Bane was the closest of all Nolan’s Villains to the comic books. Bane’s heritage and mask aside. In the comics Bane’s mother was Hispanic but his Father was King Snake AKA Sir Edmund Dorrance who was clearly English. Bane grew up in Santa Prisca prison in The Northeastern Caribbean Sea from childhood so he adopted the Spanish accent and phrases and based his appearance off a Luchador wrestler. Bane’s father clearly had the stronger genes though as Bane Appears to be White when he shows up in Batman Knightfall. So for those who think a Hispanic Actor should have played him mmmm not according to the comics.

Ras wanted Gotham to die this happened in this movie. Joker wanted to show those in power that they are not in power and can outsmart them. Bane did this throughout the movie.

TDKR has his flaws but I really prefer this movie than the Avengers. I find Avengers a little bit overrated like Avatar or Pacific Rim. Avengers is just a very good pop corn movie. TDKR is not perfect but at least it tried to be something more, something deeper.

I also love Jeremy's idea that the Nolan movies are what "really" happened to Gothem and is what the comics are based off of. A+ idea.

Finally someone that appreciated The Dark Knight Rises. Everyone seems to hate it.
@renoloverxoxo11 жыл бұрын
The Dark Knight set the bar so high with Ledger's performance that there was no way that Rises could be on par with it. The Joker is Batman's most famous adversary, and is recognized by people who don't even read the comics or watch the movies/shows. Bane is a little more obscure. Much to my shame, I didn't know who Bane was until I played the Arkham games because I didn't have WB as a kid and I couldn't afford to buy comics.
@zamarickz11 жыл бұрын
That's true but I don't think that was the problem. They tried to do too much, had two or three too many characters. Bane was good in the movie, but didn't get enough time for himself in the end. I liked it a lot, but it definitely could have benefited from 30 more minutes or 1-3 characters cut out.
@renoloverxoxo11 жыл бұрын
zamarickz The Dark Knight Rises is actually the maximum length for movies shot in IMAX. They really couldn't add any more time without stopping and going on to another reel.

I think he would either be Nightwing or he would go the route of the kid in Batman Beyond where Bruce Wayne teaches him to become Batman.
@TheHannahcast10 жыл бұрын
Here's why I think Bruce Wayne died: * I don't think Bruce could have survived the blast, even if he had the ejector, it was at 5 seconds before the bomb blew up & I think it would take a few seconds for the hatch to open & fall from that high. *Even though that's the lighter batsuit, it still has armor & that would make him sink & drown. * Even if he landed in the water, the blast would still reach him & the debris would come down on him. * If Bruce was at the diner, wouldn't everybody notice that world renowned billionare Bruce Wayne is casually at that diner after he was presumed dead? Plus, to those people who say Alfred didn't know about Selina Kyle, he HAS seen her before & he knows Bruce danced with her. * It would be kinda dick of Bruce to just leave Gotham if he wasn't going to die. *The scene where Gordon finds the bat signal can be explained by the fact that John Blake could have put it there. * Finally, the whole moral was that a man can die, but a symbol can last forever would be kinda pointless if Bruce was still alive. In conclusion, I think Bruce is dead & Blake took up the mantle.
@MistaSwagg110 жыл бұрын
ok well explain the scene at the end where Lucius Fox basically finds out that bruce wayne was able to fix the auto pilot on the bat? hmmm..

Actually he ejected himself with an escape pod when he blew up those buildings (that explosion that Blake thought was the bomb going off). You can see that the cockpit in the final shot before the bomb explodes is different than the cockpit earlier.

The first avengers film was a project with 5 movies in 4 years to set it up. Nolan's project on Batman was 3 movies in 7 years. He really took his time making sure he had the right story, budget, screenplay, cast, script, locations, production, original music and editing. This is quality over quantity. The Dark Knight Trilogy became something so much more than comic book movie. Nolan made these films grounded and realistic, making it more relatable. This is a world where somebody like Batman could actually exist. The trilogy seems like well made crime/action thrillers. As a stand alone trilogy, I don't think anything comes close.
