I’ve always considered Anakin/Darth Vader two minds in the same body. After hearing that Anakin took responsibility for all of the gruesome acts he committed that has made me reconsider my opinion. When I think about it there are two things in the original trilogy that prove and disprove that though. In Empire he tells Luke that he’s his father. In ROTJ he tells Luke that the name Anakin Skywalker has no meaning to him. That makes me question his true thoughts on his identity. Does he identify as Vader to simply survive? Is he denying Anakin to punish himself?My favorite Star Wars movie is Empire. My second is RotS. I was talking to my son about this the other day. He has the same opinion. What’s ironic is that the Empire wins in both. Anyway, great video! Can’t wait for the next one. May the Force be with You!🥰

They're definitely the same person, the idea of there being two minds in one body has never been true and was always just cope from Vader. From his POV, his past self was a failure who was too weak to save his wife and whose life basically ended in ruin. As a Sith he doesn't want to be reminded of or associated with that so he just denies that it was him.

I remember that there was a thesis paper made examining how Darth Vader / Anakin Skywalker embodied “borderline personality disorder”.

Vader is a new identity made by Anakin to cope for what he's done and who he's became

In Star Wars’ early days, Vader and Anakin were separate entities. Now, they are one person, and when it comes to his mental state, Vader felt he is stronger while Anakin was “weak”.

Darth Sidious’s face is natural I think it was sith trick to see the “ kind old man “. After the duel with Windu, his original face appeared. Look at the other sith and you will see the same thing.

It is called Borderline Personality Syndrome. A mental trauma so great a new (usually darker) personality takes over to coop with the pain of the trauma.
