Thanks for this vid. Have been here a few times and smelt that stench. It's a hell of a way to make a living. So many lives lost to the industry here on the Coast. My Father was a first class miner at Denniston for many years. My younger brother lost his life just up the road from here at Pike river. The devastaion is real 😢 Thank God my parents had passed by 2010 and spared that grief. Rip to all the lost miners 🙏

Remember my Dad Taking me here when i was way younger, in the 1980's or 90's , very somber even for a teenager, my Family is from the first settlers further down the coast, on Gillespie's Beach, but My Grandad had heaps of info about this Disaster, His Dad knew some who perished, and some who had traveled from the other mines to help to try and rescue them, unfortunally to no avail, Grandad said they were big burly men who never shed a tear, until that day.
