I worked in yachting and ¾ of what was eluded in here isn't true. Most yacht owners don't ever want to hook up with the stewardesses. That would be bad for the boat, their reputation and their insurance. Plus they are rich enough to have a yacht, they are rich enough to have a high end escort service like Cinderella or Pink Heels.While there are 'yaxht girls', it's not nearly as popular as you think it is. Also, if a yacht gets caught with drugs on board, the captain and several of the crew can lose their licenses. If a boat gets a reputation for having the owners flirt with or try hooking up with the stewardesses, that gets around very quickly and those boats won't have crew anymore because people won't work for them and word gets around with everyone in yachting, it's a small community. Yacht owners don't want to hire a econd rate crew to take care of their multi-million dollar investment and to look agger them and their friends and family. Plus other crimes that you eluded to, the vessel can lose its flag state, which is a very serious thing for a variety of reasons and if a criminal report is filed with the police of the flag state that vessel is flagged to, it will be investigated and these guys don't get to skate on criminal charges like the 'r' word, or murder and a whole list of other crimes. And if someone charters your yacht, the owner won't know whats going on. In fact, that shouldn't even know who is chartering the yacht. This is done so that an owner can't refuse to let someone charter the yacht and get a discrimination charge brought on, or try to arrange a meeting with a celebrity or try offering a discount for a favor. Charter brokers handle that stuff and if its a friend of theirs on tne yacht doing bad things, I guarantee you his crew told him. Because ic they didn't, they can be charged with the crime as an accessory.

I have a feeling that most of these stories are anecdotal....I'm sure SOME of this stuff happens but it's nowhere near as widespread as some would have you believe. I would also say that many of these "yacht girls" are consenting adults that know exactly what they are doing and seek this lifestyle out. With that said, anyone who coerces or forces these girls or crew members into to doing something that they are not comfortable with or mistreats them should face the fullest extent of the law.

A yacht in Nantucket recently had a 911 call for a person on board in harbor in distress that led to the owner a very wealthy man being arrested for several charges as spoken about in this video. Marina People in the know on Nantucket said meh happens all the time.

Does this sort of thing happen, yes, in an EXTREME minority of cases. Most captains and crew will not let this sort of thing go on and/or will resign in protest. The VAST majority of yachts are as more benign than your neighbourhood hotel, and a darn sight higher quality.
