I had a real conversation with a brother concerning whether he would rather be Black in Chicago or in Brazil. He did not hesitate: he said that Black people, in general and Black men, in particular, have it so much better here in Chicago And, the less European you look, the worse off you were as no dark complexioned people had social and political prominence other than athletes and a few entertainers. Is it perfect in Chicago and the US? Far from it, but in America, we have more room to develop and do the work we need to do to better our community.

"Executive Order" a dramatic film by Afro-Brazilian writer-director Lázaro Ramos takes an age-old racist threat and wonders how it would look in real life in this Brazilian thriller about a government forcing its Black citizens to: “Go Back to Africa.” Antônio (Alfred Enoch), is a kindhearted but outspoken civil rights lawyer who sues the Brazilian government for monetary reparations to Black citizens, attempting to hold the state accountable for its violent history against the African slaves brought to the land centuries ago and their descendants still struggling today. The government retaliates with the “Return Yourself” initiative, paying to send all Black Brazilians to different countries in Africa against their will. Depends. If you are walking around in a foreign country witha chip on your shoulder then they will certainly mess with you. The young man does travel with a little negativity so people pick up on that. I seen a few of his clips and he does display a sense of some insecurities. He also dresses a little different so they know he is not from there. It's like a guy who comes from downtown Detroit and decides to walk around Newport Beach in Cali. They will stand out and will get some stares for sure. Also, him staring at other folks are going to cause people to stare back. It comes off as confrontational so some of what he is experiencing is self driven. Not saying that their isn't racism there but I think some of it is created by his own mindset.

I saw that video, I remember you were wearing a designer hat and not like the locals, so you looked out of place (in the area you were in). You should dress more decently in some areas. Like you stated friend unforunately you have to "carry yourself a certain way" Unfortunately their are simple people everywhere. Even in the U.S. people look at you the same way depending on what area you are in.
