@@letrucalahache4445 That's really cool! With my family it seems like generational hording. This is incredible work! Way to go. That woman though... I don't judge mental struggles, and I understand how things can get out of hand really quickly, but applying for a FREE service with false information, and then LYING about what is going on? Not telling you about that cat and the needles?! That is not ok. That is so far from ok it's not in the same universe. You could have gotten seriously ill if you'd stuck yourselves, like hospital level, potentially irreversibly ill. Please be careful and protect yourselves!

@@trevarnewighton2954 I feel the need to respond to this, in case anyone else sees this comment. According to major health organizations (like the CDC, WHO, etc.), a needlestick prick that pierces the skin is enough to transmit a serious infection into someone's bloodstream. Infections from needles are common if people don't seek prompt medical treatment, like prophylaxis, after a needle injury. Research indicates that germs can potentially live for weeks or months on surfaces, including needles (you can check the pages of major health organizations and journals to confirm this). This is why it's so important to be careful around needles and to see a doctor if you get pricked by accident, to make sure you get the best prevention possible to avoid infections. Sorry if this comment is a bit long. This is a very personal topic for me because someone in my life died from this type of injury, back before prophylaxis treatment was available where we live. I just want to be sure that people have accurate information so that they can keep themselves safe.

It hurts others when you/I do that-especially people who love you. So I don't anymore. When she says it she could hurt others. I'm so upset about the poor kitten, and also the needles. She left the poor cat to die, and the needles could have been, really, really dangerous! @@realglutenfree So true. What's mind-boggling is the cognitive dissonance these people sometimes have... sure, maybe the authorities won't cause you to lose your kid, but the unsafe environment might just do it instead... they just need to deal with the latter and there wouldn't be the need to worry about the first at all. Something else might've been going on, though. The parent's either depressed or on some addiction maybe. Maybe they just need help themselves to be able to then help the child... so sad

But someone had submitted their apt under the false pretense that it belonged to someone else (a friend or neighbor or family member, ugh I wish I could remember!) who was in the hospital or something, but it was really their apartment?? And they found out midway thru the clean bc the landlord kept showing up or something? In the Uk if a parent shows incentive to get better/clean/ attempt to get mental health help, the government will let them keep their child unless they show no improvement. The child will usually be rehomed to another family member first before being moved to foster care in extreme cases. I think hiring her will show the authorities that the mum has tried to improve her situation, even if it was through lies and exposing severe neglect and animal abuse :/
@ashleymcgee3536
@ashleymcgee3536 Ай бұрын
@@Jill4ChrisRedfeild the lying is what I’m worried about. The parent doesn’t just need to keep the house clean. They need serious help. Normally I am not a tough love person. Taking someone’s child does not suddenly show people the error of their ways and cause a spontaneous reversal of behavior. It can in fact make things worse. The shame this person must feel is driving this. They need love and compassion, but they also need to reduce stress. Having a pet increases mess and stress. Rehoming the pet might hurt a little but it will be better for them and the pet and they can try again further down the road.

As someone who has struggled with severe mental health issues and drug addiction THERES NO EXCUSE. Believe me - please be angry. It makes me angry too. And I was someone who in the past had a brief run in with child protective services because I WAS not taking care of my child adequately and letting him live in filthy conditions (not this bad but quite bad) as well as emotional neglect… thankfully never had a case opened against me because I was already on a waitlist for rehab when they contacted me and went off to rehab a couple weeks after they called and have never let myself get to that point again, my younger children have never known that sort of living conditions and having a mum that is unable to care for them. That’s why this stuff makes me so angry too. There’s no excuse to endanger a child and animal to this extent and then to lie and manipulate someone into cleaning your place for free and not having the respect or care to let them know there’s NEEDLES and a KITTEN in the home like damn. Bea is a better person than me. I’d be absolutely raging.
@nickyhigby
@nickyhigby Ай бұрын
You are amazing to face this situation with such immense grace and lack of judgement for the mum. It is devastating that any child lives like this, but no parent ever sets out to make a chaotic life for their kids. I volunteer at a food bank and some of the families I meet are in dreadful housing situations and some of the kids have parents who love them but are ill equipped to deal with their own individual lives and issues, let alone be the kind of parents every child deserves. You do a beautiful thing Bea. And you are so humble and understated about it. You seem like the kind of person everyone needs as a mate. You don’t take any shit but you still have compassion and open your heart for each and every house or flat you make a home again for these people. Also you slag off how you look all the time and you’re freaking GORGEOUS so please stop it ❤

The voice over and 'step by step' explanation I really love too, also the memes in between. Your personality is so fun and makes it feel like I'm watching a friend, hope that stays part of the videos :). Personally I'd prefer the cleaning parts to be as much tripod as possible, though I understand it's not always possible to set it up in a way where you get a good shot of everything. For me with the tripod set up, it's easier to see a difference right away with the same area being 'in shot' while you go at it. + It's more relaxing/chill for me to watch when the camera is stable.

First of all, I just want to say, bless you for doing this. I totally get that it’s hard work, it can be so exhausting and overwhelming and from an outside perspective, some people might look at the start and think “why even bother” or “that’s way too gross and bad who would even want to try cleaning all that”. What you are doing is incredible and you should be proud to be a kind human who wants to help others. What some don’t seem to understand is the other side. These places get this way for a reason. Sometimes people can get into a dark place and be seriously struggling and usually things that seem simple to most people, become extremely difficult. Things as simple as doing the dishes or putting laundry away. What starts small, leaving the dishes over night with intention to wash them the next day because you’re just too exhausted that day or you’re too overwhelmed, so you put it off, might seem harmless at first, but eventually becomes a big mountain and a lot of the time these people never intended for their home to end up like this. These people don’t always mean for it to get so out of hand and a lot of the time they feel ashamed, embarrassed and then it leads to them isolating even more and the problem becoming even bigger because they’re too afraid to ask for help because they fear the judgement. And maybe some of them see videos like this and read comments on those videos where some people can sometimes be nasty and judgemental and honestly, if they see comments like that with harsh judgement, all I think is that only adds to the problem. It confirms their belief of being judged and scorned for their situation and can lead to them not seeking help because they can’t handle the reactions of others on top of whatever issues they’re already facing. Hopefully that makes sense? Hopefully if you’re someone who’s not used to watching videos like this it helps you to understand the other side a bit better. These people need help and judging them and putting them down doesn’t do anything except push them further down the hole. A little kindness, compassion and understanding goes a long way. Try to keep that in mind if you choose to watch videos of this type of nature as there is a lot of different channels on KZbin who do this sort of thing.

There are other channels whose whole attitude is, that little girl would have gotten zero help if they didn't come and help. And yes the home might go back to how it was, but it also might not. But the point is, there's a lot of reasons for a person to become addicted. Like trauma, or like how people 50% of people w ADHD struggle with substance or other addictions. Also, a lot of hoarding comes from speciric life events usually a death in the family too, so, learning how to empathetically help is so important. Shows like Hoarders make it so much harder for people like this to get help And it's so hard to get help and face the world when you're stuck in those conditions. So, I hope the mother believes she deserves to take care of herself, and I hope that taking care of her daughter is part of her motivation to do better.
