I think a contract should go both ways....if the company doesn't provide work for the idol they should compensate with payments anyway. Or be able to be sued for not holding up their end of the contract. Or at the very least...they have to release the idol from contract the moment they can no longer provide jobs for the idol. They should be sued for pretending to be an entertainment company but not really being one, not even getting gigs for their clients.

I stumbled onto Victor's youtube channel in 2019-2020, as I was browsing through BTS stuff. He was cool & I watched some of his video, but then he somehow disappeared. I did not think much of it then, as I had no idea all these issues were happening with him. He really needs to cut all contractual ties, if that's possible, or if he has already. He could then go to the States, Japan or Brazil, maybe they need a drummer. Heck, he looks just like an anime character, he could do something like that in Japan. Of course he would need to learn Japanese language just to get around better. I wish him the best.

Can you even imagine being held hostage for 14+ years of your young life? I read recently he resigned with the original company . Let's pray they do him right this time. He is Victor the drum destroyer. Those are contacts...btw. He's half Korean and half Brazilian. Born in Brazil. They kicked him out of the group but wouldn't release him from his contract. Basically put him in limbo. For years. Then sold his contract to another company who stopped him from using social media or appearing in public...or on shows like he was doing while in limbo. Or playing any instruments on videos like he was doing. So the new news he resigned with original company has me stumped. Not sure now what to think. But they definitely ruined his life.

I don't understand...if the company still has him under contract, don't they have to pay him a salary or residuals? It doesn't seem like they should be able to have him under contract without pay and he can't go create work elsewhere.

I really like his personality and talent but there is something inside him making him suffer or something that can threaten the safety of others around him. Poor guy has depression and other mental illnesses like anxiety. I hope he can get the care he needs and then return to the industry. I kinda miss the dude.

I glad you picked this up. I believe he was the last artist on the "show" where artists covered BTS songs. All the others there reacted to BTS's comments, but the band Victor was with wasn't shown again. It's not fair that he can be silenced by the company that fired him. Thank you.

It's clear the label hates him and can't stand to look at him, so why don't they just let him go? Get a new artist and forget about Victor? I always got this weird, cringy vibe from k pop groups. Something always seemed off to me. And now I know why. This K pop industry is very disturbingly problematic. Making kids train for several years to become “idols” just sounds all around abusive and turns out it really is. It’s really gotta stop. Real artists (and especially kids) don’t need to train for these creepy companies. They can make it without them.

Not gonna lie to you, this gave me shocked anger with a topping of mild anxiety. What the actual fuck. And the saddest thing is that regardless of how shitty this world is and regardless of how right Victor may be, contracts ARE absolute. And I say this (from experience) because, even thought it was shit in this situation, contracts have a way of also saving lives, which is why we *ALL SHOULD ALWAYS* read whatever we sign (... but when it comes to a cellphone update, who has the time for that, right? and trust me companies know this very well 🙃 ...). The only thing that can happen now is if enough people, and by that I men a country worth of people are able to express their support for Victor and how this is bullshit, then we can have *exceptions* (which will not interfere with integrity of contracts, because at the end of the day, unless we can prove that one of the parties was held at gunpoint while signing this, they both agreed to it). So this is where, we the public, can bring up all the racist stuff, the uncalled behaviour, EVERYTHING and possibly make a difference and if nothing changes even after that, hopefully, Victor will still come back swinging in 2027 🙏🏾.

I've never heard of Victor.. but you can bet I will look him up after this. This is just inhumane as all get out... Taking a persons freedom away and blocking them from doing something they are passionate about.. That is just wrong, on so many levels... I could understand if it was something drastic, but breaking a damn drum stick on tv??? He was swept up with the adrenaline of performing and feeling the music, others have done worse on stage in that situation.
