Anyway there are a few minor mistakes that some people have pointed out in the comments so ill just put them all here so there's no confusion. 1. Somehow only 1 person realized that i misspelled Pierre's name in the intro to "Pierre's Secret Stash". 2. In Kent's part, Waligug (the special guest) says "As you enter Kent’s house, the cut-scene starts off with Kent's wife Caroline making popcorn on the stove," when in fact Kent's wife is Jodi, not Caroline. This is actually my fault because the script that i gave waligug has this typo in it so sorry waligug. 3. At 9:19 there is actually 2 Lewis' if you look closely. This is just a consequence of me using mods to make the process of collecting footage way easier. When will part 2 come out? Look, i did intend to make part 2 ages ago but other important ideas that are much easier and more fun to make keep popping up. You also have to understand that i cant just upload nothing to my channel for 1-2 months while i work on part 2, because like i actually want my channel to be afloat while i work on it, and not feel stressed out. I have told myself that ill make the video before December so i guess you can expect it some day near then. Like for example, if me and other people in my real life community start littering everywhere, then it's not the fault of Smith's Chips that heaps of their packaging is in the local creeks. No that's the fault of me and the people around us, because we where the ones to litter. Second Edit: i was wrong abut joja not abusing their workers, as in the intro cut scene there is literally the skeleton of a worker that got worked to death, however my other points of joja not abusing animals, not harming the environment, benefiting the economy of the town etc. still stand

Also dark secret that made me feel really bad: Alex's mother most likely commited suicide. When you can enter Evelyn and George's room, you can check the table next to the bed, there is a letter saying things like "My only wish is for you to take care of Alex, I am in a better place now I am with Yoba". If this isnt a suicide note I dont know what it is, and it made me feel so sad for Alex but mostly for Evelyn and George.

I think it would be a great addition to the game if you would be able to become mayor! After rebuilding the community center, building the movie theater, the boat to ginger island, building pam a house and having maximum hearts with the villagers, there should be an event some time (i would say the last day of winter) where a villager comes up to your house saying “oh everyone has seen what you’ve been doing, we would like you to be major” and give you the choice of whether you want to or not

Also, being major would add to having new mechanics in the game, like collecting taxes and managing where it will go to (shops, projects etc) which would make it so that shops have different prices and products depending on how much money they get (you should also be able to make decorate projects and be able to customize shops)

I've played both vanilla and modded SV for a while, and one of the mods I enjoyed the most added seasonal crop price fluctuations (sells for less when in season and more when out) and taxes on your profits at the end of each season. Sadly, the mod has long been abandoned and since become unstable and unusable. It added an interesting challenge and realistic twist while it was up, though.

I still think Abby being the Wizard's daughter is a red herring and that his daughter is actually Caroline. I just don't see Caroline as the type to cheat on Pierre. Pierre can be a smug prick but he does seem to be a good husband and father who provides for his family so Caroline would be pretty shitty for cheating on him (the "don't tell Pierre, he gets jealous" line especially seems shitty if she actually was sleeping around on him). I think the reason she was walking to the Wizard's Tower is that she was subconsciously drawn there due to Rasmodius being her long lost father. Plus, he seems pretty old, at least around 60 while Caroline is probably in her late 30's/early 40's so the ages check out.

No Caroline cheated on her husband. The biggest proof of that is that the wizard suspects that he might have a daughter from one of the locals. You don't suspect that without having slept with one of them, and the only suspect would be Caroline. Even if Abigail wasn't the wizard's daughter Caroline still cheated making her a horrible person.

I still prefer my theory that Caroline is actually the wizard's daughter but doesn't know it because her mother moved away when pregnant to get away from the wizard's angry ex-wife. Just because Pierre assumes Caroline cheated it doesn't mean it's right (people who are shady always suspect others of being shady, it's called projection). It would also explain why Abigail was born with a normal hair colour and Caroline has an unusual hair colour and why Caroline doesn't think any of it when she tells the farmer she's always been drawn to the wizard's tower. I also think the wizard would be less hmmm maybe, could be, not sure if he had cheated on his wife with the only green-haired woman in town. You'd think he'd remember the affair that consequently caused the end of his marriage, and that he'd have noticed the pregnancy. Same with his ex-wife, as if a vindictive witch wouldn't pester her ex' former affair partner, their child, and would keep it a secret from the affair partner's husband. If Caroline had been born and raised outside Pelican Town and only moved there when she met Pierre it would all make even more sense and Abigail's fascination with the wizard's tower and the change of hair as a teen (since it's implied that she died it once and it never grew back with the colour she shares with Pierre) could easily be explained with the watered-down magical genes. It'd also explain where there seems to be more going on with Caroline's fantasy journeys in her mind than mere relaxing and meditation in her tea room. And yeah, one reason why I prefer this theory is that "Oh, well, Caroline cheated and does drugs in her tea room" is boringly obvious for an explanation in a setting with so many small magical elements going on. And we already got "Wife and mother who isn't 100% happy in that role and yearns for a more exciting life" with Jodi.

Jodi as a character makes me really sad, i'm at the end of my first year 2 and i interact with all the townsfolk pretty regularly so my hearts are maxed out for a lot of them and above mid for most, and the more i interacted with jodi the more i realised how she isn't just a typical one-dimensional "busy mother" character that tends to be the case in a lot of games, but an individual with goals, dreams and aspirations beyond her current role in life. one dialogue that was particularly upsetting to me was at the night market, when she's looking at the traveller's boats she makes a sad remark about wishing she could travel on one of those too and explore more beyond stardew valley. when i read that i just wanted to hug her so badly :(

Actually, fact that Pelican Town had dark secrets is great, because it makes it less sugary sweet and more like real life. One thing, however, which i dont understand is fact that while almost EVERYONE in town have money problems (Pam is out of job, Pierre's business sucks, Clint's business is slow,Willy have ti work overtime, Penny trying to save money and not happy at all, Harvey is "hardly meet ends", only Marney and Robin doesnt complain) our own character makes TONNES of money of Farm and even basically solves all town problems. Even cleaning trash, fixing bridges on beach, community center and so on. And even Willy after you bring ALL materials for his boat have nerve to charge you for ride. About TAX, i have two ideas - 1) Tax is collected on sale, you simply get money after tax deduction (this is why Lewis saying town economy picking up after your arrival) 2) Farm isnt part of town, so you dont have to pay tax.

I'm pretty sure they treat their employees the same way as Mr. Bezos conditions his shipping workers. 3. I never really think of the details about the townspeople as "dark" because they are very common things that happen in small towns and communities. I love the realism that you get to peel back the layers from being an outsider and viewing the town as idyllic to getting to know your neighbors, the good and the bad.

My hand wave on the "You don't pay taxes" is that you actually pay taxes and it's just automatically deducted from your profits. It's the only thing that makes any sense since most of the people who live in Pelican Town are either unemployed or don't have taxable incomes. If you think about it, it's highly likely that the only taxable subjects are the Farmer, Pierre, Morris, Harvey, Clint, and potentially Pam depending on how much she's paid to drive the bus once it's back up and running. Of the female love interests, Abigail and Haley are unemployed, Emily has a part time bar tending job, Leah works part time as a Jojamart cashier, Penny is probably doing her teacher work for free or for a pittance and Maru works a couple of days a week. Harvey is probably the only male love interest who works a job that would actually earn a decent salary with the remaining five either unemployed or working jobs that do not pay well enough to be taxable. Everyone else is a kid, a housewife, sells fish that can easily be caught, a "scientist" or a hobo. You can't even really expect Marnie to have much of an income either since the only farm in the area is the player's and you can't make a living with one customer. The only thing that makes sense is that the farmer pays taxes it's just not cover in depth.

I ALWAYS thought George was wheelchair bound because of some medication. In the clinic, if you click on one of the things on the wall, it says something about a medication for those who have trouble focusing or something along those lines. The side effects include irritability, hair loss, and discoloration of lips. And it mentions a 1/200 patients experiencing disintegration of one or more bones. All of those line up quite well. I think Evelynn actually says something about George being forgetful- I was almost a little disappointed to see I was wrong. But it's still not any less tragic.

if you date all of the bachelorettes up to 10 hearts and then enter the saloon at some point (not sure when) you’ll trigger a group heart event where the bachelorettes confront you for dating them all. If you have a lucky rabbit’s foot on you, they won’t confront you but instead start gossiping about mayor lewis and marnie’s relationship. So yeah they know. Also, Mayor Lewis is unmarried and so is Marnie, I don’t know why he thinks the townspeople would care if he was dating her, it’s not really a scandal.

You think that's bad, they fuck up urban areas harder. They pay less taxes, gets cheaper land so they can outcompete smaller stores, which DO pay taxes, and then you end up with people having lower wages, paying less taxes but since they're now poor and have to drive far to go to work, they need more services, all the while nobody wants to talk about how capitalism is supposed to be about *competition* and not whatever the hell that is... Walmart is just bad. Then there's the minimum wage thing which is too little to live on so people get a tax rebate so they don't starve to death. That's right, WalMart makes its competitors pay part of the wages of their employees. Joja is probably by comparison something like a Zaibatsu like Mitsubishi, Samsung, and so on. They get to grow filthy rich, but in return... the government, who's at war, get something back. (Remember that Samsung used to build 155mm self propelled howitzers.)

Joja corp is pretty bad. In a vacuum you're right, that the increased competition would lead to better prices, but the problem is Joja can sell at a loss in the town because they're backed by a giant corporation. Jojamart is actively running Pierre's business into the ground and once it has the Jojamart will have a monopoly on food in the valley, which is arguably worse than if it was just Pierre's shop because Pierre lives in Pelican town and has a vested interest in keeping the town prosperous, while Morris doesn't even have a house in town. This actually happens a lot in real life, especially in rural America.

Personally, I think that Caroline is actually the daughter of the wizard. This would explain why Abagail’s hair is purple due to heredity rather than infidelity. Also, when you do the quest for the wizard’s ink bottle, he is still caught up with feelings for his ex (the witch). So it doesn’t make sense that he would be sleeping around with any members of the town.

Re: Joja: there's also the second Shane-7 scene (Shane-7/Emily-2/Clint-2), which insinuates that their products are perhaps not safe, and they're hiding behind legal disclaimers. Similarly the landslide and boulder initially blocking the mine which are insinuated to be Joja's fault (perhaps as a part of the mining you mention) - I forget the exact text of the letters that show up when they're removed, but IIRC they're suspiciously specific denials. They clean up the mess, but when it's their fault in the first place... Unrelatedly: your farmer might pay taxes on sold goods, to be fair - perhaps the sale prices aren't "raw" sale prices but rather include sales tax (but since Lewis picks up your stuff overnight IIRC, he takes your money directly).

Remember, Joja isn't undercutting the competition because they want to help the town. They're doing it to create a monopoly and control it. If Pierre goes out of business, those prices are going up.

You seem to forget that Joja has a lot of Shady practices. My theory is that the people who run it, run it like sort of the umbrella Corporation. We read about their 'totally legal' ining operation at the start of the game.. What would a typical grocery store be doing mining for? My guess is to find foreign technology or some kind of magic, in order to reproduce it to sell it to either Ferngill or Gotoro. Morris also seems particularly interested in the Community Center. Strangely enough, there is a large amount of magic in there.. And Joja might already know of the Junimos, as the one in the abandoned Joja mart haf dialogue that implied it was trapped, if I remember.
