I lived two houses from serial killer Jerry George in fort Smith on 6th street years ago...he was heavily rumored to take kids...body of missing lady was found in his back yard buried after Jerry set his house on fire and killed himself. His neighbor, Alvin Myers ( he is dead now), knew of the body and more ..was too scared to talk while Jerry was alive. Cops didn't seem to care about more victims ...😢..they even left a lot of evidence at his house after the fire was put out. 😢.

DUDE!!!! This is my neck of the woods! I actually live a few miles from Alma. Van Buren is a beautiful, old southern town with SO MUCH history. I love the old courthouse...got married in the vault lol. There are also so many beautiful houses there and the historic Fairview cemetery that has a Confederate soldier section. There is also an historic little cemetery called Bodine that is on a hiking trail at Lee Creek reservoir. I've been in the Opera House a couple of times also and it is so neat. And you went to the Fairview cemetery! I love to just go walk around it...so many beautiful monuments. Some got destroyed in a tornado a few years ago, sadly. Trees fell on them.

You see once her brother died she got everything,he gets the houses sold and all the money put into their back accounts which he would have done as he was a lawyer. The true his wife in for murder & he was free & clear with his mistresses & wife in prison.

You're wrong about the oldest courthouse still in use. The Lafayette County Courthouse in Missouri is the oldest courthouse in continuous use west of the Mississippi River, and was built in 1847. It's located in Lexington, Missouri, and is known for the cannonball embedded in its upper left column, which was fired during the First Battle of Lexington in 1861. There's also Benton County Courthouse in Bentonville that is still in use and also there's one still being used in California.

I live right over the bridge in Fort Smith. Usually most activities are done in the early spring, fall and winter when it's cooler. As you probably found out the heat is way too much for people here to get out in the daytime. The city has wonderful small town christmas parade. The man that murdered the woman in the park area, I got to see, in a college class taught by an attorney from Van Buren, a letter he wrote. He was asking to be released because he hadn't had blood for so many days and was asking to be released to do so. He's a super sick guy. The guy who shot up the courthouse had been coming up there making friends with the workers for about two years. He was upset about a divorce proceeding and hated the judge for being more for his wife than for him. He also burned his house down that day too. It's excited to see you in our area of the country! Can't wait to see your video on Fort Smith.

I grew up there in V.B. and the cemetery on logtown hill by the Parks house actually was one of Desoto’s men buried in it from when they where exploring the Arkansas river after they had discovered the Mississippi River. Plus Albert Pike lived in V.B. when he wrote Moral’s and Dogma and if I remember right V.B. was called Phillp’s Landing at the time. There was another tragic accident most people don’t remember unless your older but in the early 80’s a semi trucks brakes failed going down the hill and collided with a station wagon at the bottom then both semi and wagon now a burning wreck with momentum crashed into one f the old building collapsing it (where the open spot on Main Street is) the crash killed the truck driver a the 4 people in the wagon as well as the 3 out of 4 people who lived in the building on Main Street. There’s a few more story’s that u missed as well 😊 but great video and channel keep it up bubba
