Music inspired by Stephen King's The Dark Tower.
This piece portrays Roland's first meeting with Jake, and the tale he tells him of his test with Cort, the young Gunslinger's rite of passage.
All music by Fingers T.

I'm not shitting you, nobody has captured the very essence of the DT saga like you have in the form of music. I'd love to see what you could do with an orchestra

I think this might be my favorite of your DT compositions. The first part brings to mind in me a sort of "lonely child of destiny", if that makes any sense. A young boy trying to understand what's going on, trying to make some sort of connection, both with life and people. This works with both Young Roland and Jake, in a bit different ways. Then I love how the second part takes the theme and plays with it, letting it build, and the Gunslinger emerges at the end, forged out of the fiery roar. Really excellent. I hope you get inspired to produce more.

Jesus, man, your work is unbelievable. You took the atmosphere of the books out perfectly. You just make the story live in me longer and longer. Thanks. And, honestly, you should be given much more credit for this work.

You do great work! I think it's amazing that you, as a fan, made all of this music on your own… and it makes me all the more hopeful that one day soon they'll announce that darn movie and get this all the attention it deserves. Still, I'm sure you've led at least a few people to discover this absolutely epic series, and so you've enriched both their lives and the Dark Tower community, humble as we are. Long days and pleasant nights, Sai!

I find it interesting that you seem to base most of your DT compositions on progrock which was an offshoot of psychedelic rock in the style of namesake King Crimson, Jethro Tull, and the likes. Sai King (or at least his own alter ego in the books) admits to the fact that he wrote most of Book 1: The Gunslinger on or inspired by a heavy mescaline trip in the early 70s, and I think it shows in that first volume, making it the best of the entire series for me. It's also why I think a decent movie adaption especially of the first book should be based in style upon the mescaline trip scene in the desert from Oliver Stone's "The Doors" (1991) which plays out with their song "The end" on the soundtrack to the scene. I wonder what would come from it if you saw the film, maybe it'd inspire you to more music particularly for the first book, even with slight inspiration from that scene and its music?

Even though I listened to this many times, I can't help admiring your passion and talent at every opportunity I can find. Are you still working on other songs about DT? Would you mind updating your fans about that? Volume III maybe? And as always, thankee sai.

I often wonder if Roland could have still continued his quest if he had not let Jake fall. I believe in the book it's stated Roland believed he needed to do that in order to use the doors, but I think that may have just been a lie implied by Walter O. Dim, what if the doors had always been there just waiting? It's already been established the old ones had easy access to other worlds, those doors could have just been long lost technology that was finally fading out.
