Oh man. I did the DCP in 2007 and I can confirm that the hot tub ABSOLUTELY needed to be filled in and never see the light of day again lol. One of my favorite stories was coming home after working a 16-hour shift on Easter, it must have been past midnight and that pool and jacuzzi looked like 1997 MTV Spring Break. I lived in an under 21 apartment but turned 21 while on the program. I was not allowed to have alcohol and used to hide it in the air vents in the ceiling during apartment inspections. The only rules they enforced at Vista were at the guard shack and if they found alcohol in your under 21 apartment.

How dare you!!! I’m a 1994-1995 DCP graduate and Vista Way alumni and these were some of the best days of my entire life. (also the hay day of pleasure island) we had a hot tub, we had a party tent, we had the big bamboo bar (look it up), we had a free happy hour at all the Orlando bars every day, we had both international and Americans living at the Way together (epic) I have MANY MANY stories, however this is a PG-13 channel. (I’m expecting a 23 and Me “surprise”any day) Let’s just remind you that Playboy named Vista Way one of the best place for college kids to be in the world. So, “keep my Vista Way out your damn mouth, Kevin!!” Thanks for the tour and yes my shoes are in that pond

SHELBY!!!!! I remember her. That throwback clip of young Kevin interviewing her was nostalgic for those who binged all of Kevin’s DCP videos EDIT: since people are sharing, I’ll share what my ex experienced as a DCP. She lived over at Flamingo by Epcot and Blizzard Beach. Her apartment was nice but just to afford it 4 roommates had to share. It was actually huge, 2 beds in each room with a bathroom

Amazing video and you were spot on with like where the busses would go, and the tubs definitely look the same. Would you be able to show the other DCP complexes (Patterson, Chatham, the Commons) even if it was just from the street? I'm so curious to see what they're doing with those locations now.

It seems like when Disney owned it, it was chaos and disgusting. Now that Disney doesn't own it, it's a lot cleaner and more sturdier. That's insane tho I didn't know about the things that happened there!

This brings back nostalgia. I actually worked for the security company that did security for Vista Way, Chatham, and Commons (Patterson Court didn't exist during my time 2002-2004). Met a lot of cool and interesting people during my time there. Wish I could befriend the people (most of the CPs were my age during that tenue, 22-24) that I talked too but the company I worked for was particular about fraternization so I didn't want to chance it. I always got a kick seeing the CPs walk to Walgreens and bring back 24 packs of beer and other alcohol onto campus. A couple of interesting things. The current Chick-fil-A is where a Bennigans used to be back in early 2000s. Also they got rid of that area down the street where Jungle Gyms used to be as well. Also no more left turns from Meadowcreek onto 535 either.

Man, Vista Way was such a weird moment in my life. DCP 2006(maybe, my memory is....) I remember someone chucking a couch in the pond and "swimming" to it to sit and eat a sandwich or something... classic. Also lost a pair of sandals to the pond. The chaos.

Former on-site CM here. This video cracks me up. I didn't live at Vista Way, but the place was absolutely notorious all around the park and even possibly nationwide. I knew a ton of people who lived over there and I can honestly say that they were some of the worst people I have ever met. Lying, breaking safety rules, tons of alcoholism, promiscuity, protected and not, fighting, filth, and that goes also for the majority of the guards who worked there at the time that I saw them. Dealing with the people at Vista Way really ruined my faith in Disney as a company 😅 I'm not saying that all of the people who lived there were awful necessarily, just the dozens that I met, witnessed and knew personally. That's why my standards though. I see even in the comments that some people were fine with breaking the company rules with alcohol for example and betraying their agreements... to each their own, including the consequences.

In 2006, Vista Way was just a normal college level apartment. Was not junky or a dump in any way. It was clean and just fine. Clubhouse was great. No complaints. As for the partying, it was an apartment complex full of college kids. Of course it was a party. So were the other disney apartments. I had an awesome time living in Vista Way. Jungle Jims was the cesspool bar you went to find someone dirty to hook up with. There was no ritual to throw your shoes in the pond, that must have been a one time thing. The new Flamingo is nice, but literally isolated and nowhere to walk to. But way closer to the parks for the bus ride. The price seems to be the same. I paid $700 a month in 2006 for rent. The flamingo shared bedrooms are $870 a month. Your own bedroom is $960 a month. Florida's minimum wage is $12 an hour, in 2006 we got $7.50 an hour and now CPs make $16 an hour. They now make $1,300 more a month before taxes.

Vista Way was something special and if you lived there you know what I'm talking about. The current college program doesn't give the same vibes at all or reflect the same experience. Vista Way was like a tropical vacation resort for most of us coming from around the country/world- Flamingo crossings, while nice looking and clean, seems sanitized and sterile, corporate and lacks character. Vista Way.. all in our memories now.

I was in an unrenovated vista apartment for fall 2018.. I was so mad that other people got renovated and paid the same price 😂 $108 a week for 6 of us, Disney was making $2600 a month off the crusty unit!! I would’ve paid $20 more a week to live at the commons 😅 but at least I can say I lived at vista wayyyy. I also hated that the bus was the last stop on the way back from work. It took over an hour to get home usually at like 2:30am. I wish I would’ve made more of my program, I was young and self-termed a month early but I live in Orlando now after moving back a few years ago and it’s way better on my own terms :)

I opened the door to the common area to see one of my rooming towel whipping a giant fire on the stove and then another roommate walked out and said holy f*** I'm going back to bed now. I got the fire extinguisher to put out the fire. Funny thing is the smoke detector didn't go off for a good couple of minutes while the fire was occurring. Vista Way security didn't seem to concerned about all the burn marks all over the wall and panty when they brought another fire extinguisher.

Kev, help me. Just saw what I thought was a massive Easter Egg in the Simpsons ride in Universal. On the TV screen in the holding area was a picture saying Haunted Villa closed for Annual Ghostbusting? Is this a coincidence or sign of good things to come?
