From a research point of view, my only criticism here is that they didn't discuss the, I'm sorry but, extortionate prices that are often charged for such services. This same family was covered in other documentaries as well and the story really was impacted by the relationship between desperate people "willing to try anything" and the extremely high value placed on some of these rituals, often with emphasis that they need to come back for multiple sessions. That's not to discredit their work, but just as it's healthy to question and challenge your doctors sometimes, people need to question whether a cure-all solution could exist, and more importantly, if there's a price you could possibly pay for it.

I understand where you're coming from however prices vary and at the same time, I feel it’s important to remember that the value people place on these experiences can be very personal. For example, if I really want an iPad, I know it’s expensive, but if it’s something I really want I make the choice to pay for it. Similarly, some individuals see these rituals as meaningful and ultimately decide if it’s worth the cost for them. Of course everything, I believe, should be questioned. Western medicine, witch medicine, holistic medicine etc!
