The purification machine just make it earlier to purify Shadow Pokemon. They stole the ship, because it had Pokémon on it and they used those Pokémon to make new Shadow Pokémon that you catch in Pokémon XD.

The Purification Machine is also how you purify Lugia. The different sets in the machine, when in a setup that flows perfectly, synchronize with each other and have a greater purifying effect. Getting all the sets flowing perfectly and then putting Lugia in the machine is how you purify it.

To be fair. The lab only sent you to pick up a machine part and bring it back and then send you to look at the relic stone. Literally everything after that the lab doesnt tell you to do

11:06 It's been years since I played the game too, but I think the point of them stealing the boat was that they were after the Pokémon on board, looking to turn them into Shadow Pokémon at their factory. Again, it's been years, so I may be misremembering or having it blend with other games in my head, but that's what I understood that to be. Anyway, this was a really fun reaction. I'll need to check out some of your other videos.

yup, that was the purpose for stealing the ship. It had a bunch of pokemon they wanted to steal and turn into Shadow Pokémon.. like the Bonsly that escaped and we need to catch at some point in the game

if u remembered the point of taking the boat the boat had most of the pokemon that became the shadow pokemon it was said in the story there were alot of pokemon on that boat

Cypher stole the boat because it had a bunch of pokémon on it. That's where they got their supply for turning them into shadow pokémon.

Never played it myself, since I don’t own a GameCube. Love the premise, though, and I’ve enjoyed watching walkthroughs. THAT SAID… Even today, with my higher maturity and patience (both debatable), I’m 99% sure I would be driven insane by the finale. Cinedark Island is ridiculously long and difficult, especially if you’re under-leveled. But the worst part is the battle with Greevil, arguably The Hardest Pokémon Battle In The Franchise. Because you have to catch an entire TEAM of Shadow Pokémon, which all have difficult catch rates, and THREE of them are LEGENDARIES! Sure, you have the option of defeating them, and coming back again for another attempt (thank you, video game design), but you’re initially expected to successfully catch them all ON YOUR FIRST TRY! Has anyone actually done that?! I would LOVE to see it happen!

I always headcanoned that the artificial purification system was because in the OG game Cipher tried to destroy the relic stone, so having another way to purify pokemon would be good.

And also efficiency. The Relic stone works on pkemon you've had in your party for a certain length of time or number of fights, while the chamber will quickly bring down the meter without giving them a frenzy state and can do like ten at a time instead of just a team of six... Downside is they don't get exp from the fights to get a level up during purification... it is ALSO the only way to purify Lugia (have all purification chambers filled with max efficiency 'teams' (with or without shadow pokemon being purified) Also, Mirror B steals a shadow Dragonite and it is possibly the HARDEST pokemon to catch especially since you would have probably used the master ball for Lugia by that point...

How exactly is realgam tower stupid??? The game tells you, go there, why not go there? I've found a surprisingly high amount of people who got stuck there... Huh.

I think the reason a lot of people got stuck there is that just going to Realgam Tower doesn't actually get you past her. I did that as a kid. I went to Realgam, then immediately went back to Phenac, and she was still gatekeeping me. I still don't actually know what triggers her to let you through. I own the strategy guide, but it has no info on the exact thing you need to do to proceed. My guess is playing a round of Bingo is what finally lets you progress, but that's really only a guess.

You don’t need to do anything at Realgam, you literally just go there and go back to Phenac. At most you just need to go to the lobby. Idk how so many people got stuck on that.
