Alina was an orphan together with Mal, so she got attached to the point of obssesion. It’s such a pity, I think the books could have been much greater if Bardugo decided to make it a ‘let’s redeem this villain’ story if you what I mean

@@valerieblahova I red the books a long time ago, so I’m not sure about it, but I think Alina and Mal came from the same place and they were the only survivors, that might had contributed a lot for the fact that she was so attached to him. Anyway, Darkling and Alina really have way more chemistry than Mal and Alina, is quite awkward to thing of them as a couple. I mean, their relationship should had been more of siblings, it would be way better. (Ps: English is not my first language, so forgive for any mistakes)

@@alissax3542 SPOILERS i wanted Alina to become evil so much, like a vilain story, because she became so power-hungry and obsessed with the amplificators and her revenge... She was always talking about three things only : "i want all the amplificators", "i want Mal", "i want the Darkling dead". The more she obtained power, the more the wanted, she has already become greedy in such a short amount of time that I thought she would turn completely at the end of book 2. Then, maybe try to redeem herself and kill the Darkling and herself in the process at the end of book 3.. It would have been tragic but i don't think she could have had a happy ending with the Darkling, even if she stayed good and he had a redemption arc. He has done so much that he would probably have to sacrifice himself to truly redeem ? I don't know

@@morgant5680 SPOILERS from books I think The Darkling wasn't completely wrong about what he said to Mal in episode 7, if things had gone differenty they would probably have been reunited again... but even then i do believe, as a character, he should face some kind of consequences for his actions, for extending the fold at least. For the shit he pulled with the collar, in my eyes, Alina gave him payback at the end of book 2, he used her powers against her will on the skiff and in the church she did the same to him (furthermore with the forbidden science, which is really consuming), nearly killing the both of them in the process. It's the direction they took in book 3 that "surprised" me

SPOILERS Alina couldn't end up with the Darlking but maybe she soudn't have end up with Mal either : she was so obsessed, she always made herself miserable while she loved him. Her being a powerful single queen at the end of book 3 have been amazing... (i didn't stan Alina so much from book 2, but the show made me fall for her) But she lost a part of herself again to end up with Mal again, just like she did before when she hid her powers from the Grishas. The only kind of consolation is that this time Mal lost his gift too, so they're as equal as they can get and they can live a basic quiet life i guess

Ohhh my God, I have goosebumps this was brilliant 🔥. I genuinely don't understand how Alina and the Darkling aren't together, like literally. They are soulmates, darkness and light, yin and yang. Hell, even Ben Barnes said it himself. Just because Mal is the good guy does not mean he and Alina belong together. The Darkling and Alina they defy each other, they challenge each other, (they have contrasting powers for goodness sake) it's so interesting. Yes, the Darkling is manipulative and he is violent and it can be scary but that's what he was taught in order to survive, in order to get Grisha to where they are. He must have been betrayed so many times by trusting them, seen people he loved die because they were Grisha, I mean how can one person live with that fir centuries. To be honest I think Zlatan is more of a bastard, letting Fjerdans in, so they can raid the docks and kidnap and kill Grisha, no wonder the Darkling wants to kill them. Throughout the decades he's only had himself for company, to make decisions, and he's become colder and crueller because well, of time. With Alina, he doesn't feel alone anymore, he feels like he could spend forever with her. That moment where she touches his hand and the light just exploded, his face! His face said it all. It's like he's saying I've finally found someone, and Alina could really be his balance. I feel like when she said to him that he didn't give her a choice, neither did she. When Baghra took her, she should've went back and gotten the truth out of the Darkling, she knows him better than bloody Baghra, he would've told her I think, and she could decide from there. She doesn't get how much the Grisha had to suffer and maybe he could've told her that so she could understand. I feel like he really wants to protect Alina as she is the only one like him, and, if they got the chance, the other side would try to kill her. I swear, there is literally so much potential with these two they're really interesting and complex characters. I hope Netflix realises because God knows I'm going to fucking lose it if they don't.

Darklina is a wonderful couple, they are the opposite of each other, light and shadows, they are perfect together,has a lot of chemistry,Netflix could give it a try and do it differently by changing the nature of Darkling a little and making it more capable of opening up to love and not just power,Alina could change who he is and help him understand that not everyone wants war, but that Alina also understood how much the Grishas had suffered in the past and that what Aleksander did was to try to protect his people from imminent death,I would like them to be together at the end❣️
