Climb aboard the Coordinated Endeavor for our launch into space as we review ‘The Darkness Outside Us’, by Eliot Schrefer. Two boys are alone in space with evidence indicating that strangers have been aboard. A brooding shipmate has barricaded himself away. What could go wrong? I had to find more reviews of this amazing book! You three were so fun to listen to!!! I love scifi but the reveal still blew my mind (and actually gave sci fi horror vibes). Great point about how each c**** had diff reactions every time, which made the story so intriguing. A few corrections: SPOILERS . . . 1. Kodiak's and Ambrose's meatbags aren't found together, they are in their separate areas 2. In the first death, Ambrose did try to save Kodiak, but he wasn't fully prepared when OS opened the door to murder him 3. The second pair isn't the one where Kodiak goes berserk. The second pair (in Part Two, my favorite) is the one where Kodiak does the manual override, then dies of radiation in Ambrose's arms. ... ... ... the existential heartbreak of them finding out they were just dispensable maintenance clones is one of the best twists ever. I felt differently with you however, in that I connected with the characters even if they were different clones, if that makes sense? I just saw it as different possibilities, not different people. I agree with you that OS character development was so interesting. So happy again to listen to you!

@@controlyourshelf defintely a 5 star😼 I had a great time since I love disturbing and harrowing stories. I didn't expect it to be that way based off of the description and certainly not the cover. Colour me pleasantly surprised.

So, I'm reporting back after two months of watching this video, that I've finally read this book. I forgot most of the spoilers so I went in half blind so to speak. And my god! As you all said, once you get past that 40/50% mark, it's just... At one point, I think when they booted up the OS Prime, that I just stared at my tablet with my mouth open. Also the messages the various clones left for the future ones were so beautiful they made me cry a few times. As Rose said, I was expecting a bad ending, and I would've been okay with it, but the happy ending was just so satisfying, and I'm glad I'll remember this book with a warm feeling in my heart. I just know that if this book came out when I was in high school I would've been obsessed with it 😂 Anyway, thank you thank you so much for the recommendation, because otherwise, I would have overlooked it as just another m/m light read 🥰❤
