Such an amazing story. I think it is interesting to point out the connects he made in his second year in business school. Ken Chenault, Stan O'Neil, John Utendahl, etc. It shows that yes hard work can pay off, but access to power is the lifter and enabler of his kind of story. Much respect to Robert Smith. I agree…but no man wants battle the world and come home and fight a battle in his home. Too many of our women believe that conflict resolution requires the love and hip-hop model: aggressive, abrasive, emasculating. It’s the same reason a lot of Black women are also willing to choose euro-men because they don’t want to have to struggle with men who aren’t about their discipline… We both have a disconnect. Unfortunately, the gap is widening and I don’t even know how we fix it.
