For this in depth review, we talk about the Nissan Gloria Y32 and how simple yet well built of a car it is. It has plenty of hidden gadgets and weird user interfaces in the car that make it super interesting, but also extremely comfortable even with the right hand drive. The car has basically no creaks or rattles, it's turbo engine runs smooth, and is insanely quiet. It's one of most well built cars of the 90's that wasn't crazy expensive. It later on went on to be the Infiniti Q45 in the United States. Thanks for watching!

Nissan quality in the late 80's/early 90's was amazing. The interior on my '92 Maxima SE was leaps and bounds ahead of my '96 240sx, or my buddies '97 Maxima. Zero rattles, the entire time I owned that Maxima. Great review, Nissan quality shows through.

Can you start including B-roll of all the "quirks" or features that you talk about during these reviews? It would have been way more interesting to see footage of the weird e-brake, disc player, "watch-like" clock, ambient interior lights in the B-pillar, and etc as you were talking about it in the video - especially in cars that were never available here in the US. Like even though you described the weird e-brake, I can't really come up with a good picture in my head of what's going on because it's a foreign car I've never seen before. I feel like the B-roll would add another layer of production value to your reviews.

You can't really compare it to a Taurus though. You'd have to go luxury barge like a town car. And they are very quiet as well, even back then. No where near as refined and good looking though. Man, I really dig the styling on this one. Kinda reminds me of a nice blacked out 90's Benz!

Ford had Mercury, and the grand Marquis. The Taurus was never even considered full size, nor luxury. That's what Mercury was to ford That's what Buick was to GM. The Taurus was compatible to the Chevy lumina. A huge difference in class and luxury

My uncle had one of these in japan back in the late 90's. He bought it from a guy involved in the yakuza business. It was a cedric ultima turbo, same car. Very powerful car, unfortunately, it drank fuel like crazy so he sold it

Driver motorsports is like 5 minutes up the road from me. I cruise their showroom once a week to look at cars. Theyve always got the best selection and theyre super top quality cars. They have several r32s, a rhd rx7 and a blue gloria. Theyve also got a 91 nsx. The people there are cool as hell and their cars speak for themselves.

Nice vid. It's so cool that these modern classics are becoming available in the States now. I had a 1994 Y32 when I previously lived in Japan but at the time the car was still too "new" to bring back home. As you mention; these cars have eye-catching style, silky smooth performance and above-average reliability. The only thing that tended to go wrong with these (and only because the tech was still emerging) was the multi-functional touch screen. They're expensive to replace which is probably why the one you were driving looked like it had already been converted. Smart move.

The Gloria goes back to the late 50s, when it was the Prince Gloria. When the company that would become Nissan, bought the Prince Motor Company, it kept most of its models, including the Skyline and Cedric. Imagine if those three models had came to the States in the late 60s early 70s...competition overload.

I was told at that time the Japanese people did not believe you should eat or drink in a car. I owned a 92' Infinity M30 convertible back then. It didn't have cup holders either. I was told that the car was made for the Japanese market only as a Nissan Leopard and was only exported to the States to fill the mid-size two-door coupe slot in their line-up to compete with the Lexus ES250 in their three car line-up. They later dropped the M30 and replaced it with the J30 in 93'. That was a beautiful car (only 2500 made in its life span in the States ). I got a lot of compliments with that car from people as there weren't many drop-top four passenger vehicles being made at the time. A rare bird in pearl white with a dark brown canvas top and tan leather interior.

My 1997 Pontiac Bonneville has crazy features for the 90's (just not the cloth base model) i can take my hand off the wheel at 115mph and it tracks strait even when passing 18wheelers. zero wind noise even with the windows open. Supercharger 240hp but only weights 3,400lbs, power adjustable ride hight, performance mode, traction control, ABS, 30mpg, CD player w/EQ, digital climate control, speed sensitive steering/ rack and pinion , full power leather seats, leather door skin, soft dash, power mirrors, steering wheel control buttons, Air bags. And it handles like a sports car on the back roads of the smoky mountains/blue ridge GA

my y33 has all those features and is a 96. except its a VQ30DET, so makes more power. Also has a digital dash and touchscreen ac/ice. But you may have outdone me on the 30mpg haha.

The paint is kinda gold/silver with the aluminum 16" 5 spoke like this gtcarlot.com/colors/car/42379385.html but my interior is nicer and and i have the really good bose cd player/ 8 band graphic EQ. i do like the bbs wheels you are talking about but my wheels seem to match the car well for a stock rim.

My mate has one, called a Nissan Cima over here. All the screens n buttons are in Japanese still so it really feels special and has a aura when you hop inside and has a lot more than this one in it, sat nav and tv and memory electric seats that slide back when you open door then move forward to your remembered setting, this must be base model or something, his is the 4.1L V8 and was imported from Japan with only 14 000 km's on it . Has enough power to cruise up to 200 km/h no worries.

It would be something in between, bigger more powerful than the M30 of the time and smaller than the Q45. Like David said, we got a newer version of this, but as the second gen Infiniti Q45 (Y33) and then later the Y34 became the second gen M45. Confusing I know.

You should find a first gen 300zx (z31) to review! That car show cases the performance of the vg30et engine, it was the Fairlady of that time 😀 anyways i want to also say I love watching your videos because I almost always learn something. I have a 03 Infiniti m45 (03 Nissan gloria) is v8 340hp no turbo all aluminum engine. Hard to find anything engine upgrade parts on the US. Yes my car look like mafia car or a cop car :)

Nice car. I owned a 92' M30 convertible back then. It was a Nissan Leopard It was exported to the States to fill the gap in Infinity's three car line-up when the brand was introduced in 89' to compete with Lexus's ES250. It was replaced with the J30 in 93'.Turned alot of heads in that car as there weren't many four passenger drop-tops being made at the time.

Right Hand drive means the steering is on the correct side of the car and there left hand drive cars here in Australia not many as people import old models that can be registered on the road under club rego I think. The Gloria is a very nice car

This was definitely a popular car with low level Yakuza. Good call. LOL Very popular with VIP stylers too. It's such a good car and STILL looks great in 2017. See if you can find a President from the same era. That is actually the car you think this one is.

I live in Canada bought a py32 cedric, it seems that its a grand turismo but it has some things that yours does not.Such as hand powered seats and a telescopic steering wheel.its. a v6 3L no turbo.interior is the same missing grand turismo badges, as well as black mirrors not chrome.Also GT rims .I have some issuses an would love too talk to someone more about this beauty.Got her for almost nothing but saw an see a lot of potential, as it is now 26 yrs old an minor surface rust on back small dent _scrap on door.

The Y33 didn't make it to North America. We got the Y34 and you're right it was an Infiniti (M25 /M35/ M45 depending on the engine) The M45 had like 340hp if I recall from my readings. Rear wheel drive. These cars are so low key and still slept on.

Just something to point out, the Y33 was still JDM, but the Y34 was the USDM Infiniti known as the 2000 M45! I have a Y33 here and it's also great for its year.

It´s the Gran Tourismo so it´s the sportier version of it. The other versions have more features for example on the steering wheel like ASCD, radio and climate controls.
