@Jordan Peters it died before Artie left the show. The show was dead in 2000. People kept listening because they were used to it. That's why Howard left for Satellite. He saw Opie and Anthony getting a huge following and he needed to do new material. So he jumped ship from terrestrial. The problem is, he jumped too late. Then Sirius got stupid and signed him to 500 million dollars which tanked the company, tanked the stocks and they had to merge with XM because they also mismanaged talent.
@jpetersgoyanks Жыл бұрын
@@HansDester Opie & Anthony??? Who??? Hahahahahahahaha!!! Is this Anthony? I think that’s is one of the 3 people who know that show exists. People have been trying to say the show is dead since the early 80’s because that’s what happens when you are on top. It happened to The Beatles, it happens to SNL. Every whale has smaller fish that eat it’s leavings and curse it at the same time. FYI: you don’t merge because times are tough, you merge because you are taking over the competition. Notice they continue to pay HS. Huge company’s don’t throw away money to save face. You have absolutely no sense at all. I’d love to find some reason in what you say, there is none. Get off the dark web because that’s where I assume you are getting all this false logic.

@justlolatthisworld7917 Жыл бұрын
I think something that really hurt Artie - besides the insulting bit itself - was that Howard refused to admit that they were making fun of and messing with him. If Howard had just said, "Yeah, we were insulting you, and it made a great bit", I think it wouldn't have been quite as big of a deal - because it would have been Howard being honest. However, as we all know, that will never happen - because "Howard" and "honesty" are contradictory terms. Instead, Howard claims that they did the bit for Artie's "own good". This was incredibly insulting on so many levels, and Artie saw right through the BS. And I think foundationally what really bothered Artie - and the bit was just the tipping point - was Howard's absolute betrayal of him and his trust. Because if you listen to Artie speak, he keeps mentioning that Howard had repeatedly stabbed him in the back by revealing things on the air that he had personally told Howard in confidentiality off the air. This lying, backstabbing, two-facedness from Howard was what made Artie correctly see Howard as a phony and not a friend. And then to add even more insult to injury, Howard completely denies this, right to his face. Which is another thing. Howard constantly just straight up lies to Artie's face. And then Pelican proceeds to contradict himself every 30 seconds in order to try to keep his lie consistent and believable (which he fails at miserably). In other words, I think that Artie probably saw Howard as somewhat of a friend at first, and then he finally realized that he was actually talking to a back-stabbing robot and not a real person. And this is why Artie was so taken aback at the fact that Howard had the nerve to claim that they were "bros" and "friends". In summation, Artie had slowly been learning over the years that Howard didn't care about him one bit, and it hurt. The dating bit was just the catalyst that finally brought this to the surface.
