100% You can tell people like this immediately because they are always counting other people's money. When you are counting other people's money, you're looking at other people in competition and often with a zero-sum mentality. In other words, in their mind, your money is money that is taken away from them. Any time he got into trouble, he never took responsibility for his actions and attempted to bring others down who were above him in the work hierarchy, which is something he could not stand. It ALWAYS ends bad for people like this though (despite, in John's case, the THOUSAND breaks he didn't deserve). Talk about squandering... this guy has zero talent, got a job on the biggest radio show ever, a record deal with a major label, and, with a HORRIBLE voice, accent, and stutter got the most coveted announcing job in show business and even after the embarrassing hire, still kept a writing job on a legendary show. If someone like this is not a completely oblivious, bloviating narcissist, they would bank all of their money and live very very small knowing that it would have to end at any moment. The thing is... these breaks fed into his delusion that he actually had talent. Now he's substitute teaching, showing clear signs of alcohol-related dementia, and screaming like a maniac while the few people who are listening are only there to make fun of him.

When John was on the Stern show he got away with whatever he could, for as long he could. He treated people like crap and took financial advantage of everyone who met him. Now those days are over. Everyone hates him for the way he behaved, and he's stone broke, a pathetic drunk and working as a substitute teacher to help pay off his child support. His stand-up comedy 'career' eventually shuddered it's last pitiful breath because he couldn't sell more than about seven tickets to any show. And not for a single, solitary second does he think that any of it is HIS fault.

I used to think Howard was way too harsh with John… he makes nothing and is told not to find the little pieces of gold to make it worth the while… but John is like Sal, but Sal is more lovable- they are told about their mistake and has to learn on every single turn when he makes a mistake, unable to handle a new problem or scenario. Sal would hear don’t show the boys to interns… but then have a cup of his goo and repeating “c” “suckers” and not get why he’s in trouble

If you watch that episode of wings... when two of the cast go to visit John's (lame) character in his bedroom? At one point the guy reaches out and touches John's foot. Both him and Crystal Bernard both recoil in disgust, lol. That was an inside joke that the crew all knew how disgusting John's feet were.

First segment Howard giving John hard time over accepting favors/gifts. Starting at 26:17 3 consecutive callers put through BY JOHN DEFENDING JOHN…but the interesting part…caller names are JOHN, GARY and FRED. Wondering if John did this on purpose and had his friends use those names to show Howard “this is ridiculous and everyone thinks so they just won’t speak up.” If he did do it on purpose…that’s MASTERFUL work by John!

You sort of sound like Richie Wilson. Can you provide a link to the video of SJ on wings? I’ve never been able to find it.

So Gary wanted to do something first, like Ronnies block party, and Stern made him not do it?? I didn't know that. Why did he allow Ronnie to do it?

Hey Bludcot, how bout a Robin compilation?? Her news, her fights, her vacation stories, her craziness, her endless parody songs, her hilarious cover songs (my personal favorite). The show would suck without her. The least you could do is make a compilation. Lol
