Fine performance by Stockfish, BUT Alpha hates the French and wont play it willingly... Alpha was forced into this gambit line... I might add that Alpha evaluated its position as losing after Qg5 (which it was forced to play)...

He's correct. There was 1,000 games played in the latest rematch. 155 AlphaZero Wins, 6 Stockfish Wins, 839 draws. I think anyone that looks at those numbers and says stockfish is better is a fool. And it appears that all Stockfish wins were on games with pre-determined openings.

Strictly speaking, I don't think the AlphaZero AI chess playing program has played a public game since 2017. The current program most people refer to as AlphaZero is actually a different program called Lc0, nicknamed Leela and uses AlphaZero technology but has become something quite different with its open project status, community development and evolvement. I don't understand why anyone would call this AI chess playing program AlphaZero instead of by its proper or nickname.

@prakhar singh It's not about the training. It's about the code. It's not like "let alpha zero train more and it will get better and better for ever" this is not how it works. You have to constantly improve the code further and further, find weaknesses in the codd and so on for it to become better.

But what about the game with same forced opening variation , but reverse colors ? Engine usually play same forced opening variation twice : with white pieces and then with black. You can force engine to play from bad position and of course it loses . And if engine wins same position with reverse colors, opening is just busted, unplayable between players with roughly equal strenght.
