Incredible moves. KH2 made me think how as children, our minds are so plastic and creative but we lose that as we become adults and abide by rigid rules. Alphazero has that child-like creative ability to see all possibilities, combined with incredible brute force of calculation. It’s an irresistible combination.

At 5:20, this is how to deliver a smooth checkmate Queen takes h3 pawn (giving check to king) King is forced to take queen on h3 Rook comes on h5 and MATE ! Reason: Rook has taken over the h file, poor king has been left with only two squares on g2 and g4 but both are covered by the light square bishop on f3. !! B O O M !!

@My Account chess is a solvable game, yes. But we are faaaaar from it. Even if AlphaZero was trained by a super computer as large as a galaxy, it couldn't answer if a position is a win or a lose or a draw. It simply didn't have enough time to self learn.
@VojtasII
@VojtasII 4 жыл бұрын
@My Account Machine Learning is not magic, if the programme doesn't improve anymore, it may just be stuck in a local optimum. Alpha Zero is definitely impressive, but Leela is now stronger most likely, same as Stockfish 11. But we won't get an answer unless we get to see a proper match again

The founders of Google misspelled "googol" as "google" and in the case of "Alpha Zero", I think that's also a misspelling of "Aleph Zero" which is a long standing mathematical term for "infinity", which like "googol" represents a large number. A lot of people would see the word "Aleph" and think it's "Alpha."

The game 4, I dont think that is a special move in that position, because if I put it on Stockfish the evaluation for that position before the move is +8.4. So it is already a clear win for white "whatever move" white does. Alpha Zero with white does the best move, but even with second best or third best move AZ would easily win. Its more genius if other programs think the position is even but then finds a winning move.
