I will say I love a game that lets you fully simulate actively living in a certain setting. Anything that give you that feeling of “yes you are in a zombie survival world” is something I love, and that even includes the small dumb details that don’t necessarily fit into the core gameplay loop (but usually should). Honestly a great example of this is the game Project Zomboid which as a side note is basically what this game dreams to be. In that game there are dozens of ways to just let yourself get immersed. Small things like having a washing machine clean your clothes, having a radio that gives you updates and stories, having TV shows you can watch to break the boredom, and crafting a stir fry so you can be not sad about eating canned beans for the 30th time that week. This game will most likely never come out, and if it did it’ll be another looter survival that will have nothing interesting to show for. If you want a game like this play project zomboid.

Dunno, I think Naughty Dog managed to pull off a triple-A title with Uncharted over a decade ago. Sure, it was PS3 exclusive, but still from an unknown, small 'indy' studio. The difference is a lot of the time, these small indy studios are pure devs from coders to management and have a clear vision to begin with. Also, they tend to stay secret and don't hype until the game is in Alpha. Naughty Dog is a lot bigger now! Just saying it does happen, indy studios can and do pull it off. There's other better examples....

Something tells me, this was just a test run. Sooner or later, there will be a 'new' studio, a 'new' game, who, after dropping a mini trailer of what may be possible, if they can get a little 'support' by linking you to their kickstarter or other monetary account. I personally call them crypto or nft games. It will appear out of nowhere and disappear into the ether, never to be seen again.

I think it is a bit disinegenuous to call Propnight a complete carbon copy of DBD, but yeah these devs are sketchy.

Why would anyone want to "volunteer" working for a game development studio? I do volunteer work cleaning up my local area, others I know volunteer to help homeless people. You know - things, where you feel the work itself makes a difference. But "volunteering" for a game developer sounds way more like their workforce is based on interns, who are paid (next to) nothing and who don't bring any experience to the table.

The only way i'd do it, is if i were financially stable. Even then, i'd at least be picky about it, and take it seriously. I've "Tested" games, and that shit is not fun.

I'm surprised several people haven't sued them for abuse of trade dress for those stores in the mall. Changing the name means shit if you're stealing trademarked colors (Tiffany's) or complete design (Sephora, Apple).
@Cullervo Жыл бұрын
I disagree, changing the brand name is a very strong buffer against potential lawsuits. This is especially true for an ultra generic design like tiffany and co has. Millions of companies use a similar design, and proving in court that yours is the one that specifically got infringed on is gonna be tricky if the lawyers handling the case are equally competent on both sides.

I was wondering too. I couldn't find anything on it. Kira sounded as if he was looking forward to see/hear from that.

That Day Before Spa video...that looks suspiciously like GTA. The text box at the top, the animations, the scene transitions...
@hianara3126 Жыл бұрын
the Spa video looked EXACTLY like GTA-V. the way the character moves, the black info box in the top left, even the graphics. if you added gta sound effects to the button prompts and info panel appearing i would not be able to tell the difference.

That walking animation and jog animation are straight rips from the Division. I played the game long enough to tell what that animation is

I'm glad your dry socket is doing better. I got dry socket in all four holes when I got my wisdom teeth out. I couldn't eat solid food for a month. By the end of it I was sick of soup, I was liquidating Popeyes chicken in a blender.

This is just like all these new survival horror games in Unreal, its just buy assets and cobble it together with asset packs and pre made AI.

I'm surprised no one pointed out that this looks like taken out of GTA V, floating text in the upper left corner containing tool tips to action, notifications in the same place informing you in change of your stats, even the animations for entering and leaving are fairly similar to entering or leaving apartment.
