Watching it, I have zero desire to play it. Even for free. This looks like an alpha of a different game than what we were shown over the last FIVE YEARS. I get that they had to release something, but the reason people are so upset is they very improperly set expectations and the customers feel betrayed once their hands are on the actual product.

Hey Skillz, if you do decide to play it again, when you loot, click the right mouse button on an item, it should automatically drop the item into your inventory... It will save you time when looting. Also everytime you die, they give you 500 coins, this will no doubt be abused for people to get a ton of money!!

From what I've heard gunfire and alarms are programmed as background noise so aiming for PVP and looking for alarms and gunfire on a general directions is useless

The leadership team should be ashamed, and at that price early access isn’t even an excuse either. They outright lied, it’s a small extraction shooter, not the open world zombie mmo as advertised. Then you have the many technical issues and depth of gameplay, it’s shockingly bad. I feel sorry for the people who choose to defend this rubbish.

You got it down right, ( Select Quest, go to the area to find materials, Loot, Kill players that get in your way, and extract ). A lot of players were lost and didn’t know what to do. That’s what I saw from my stand point just from viewing others stream.

I refunded the game before my 2 hours was up because the game had no aspect to it that was advertised like just the same as the survivor colony it looked smaller and a million times different then shown. Coulnt find my quest items,no zombies, nothing. I wanted this game to succeed but ive just accepted we aint gomna get what we were shown

Do appreciate the review. I think 'going forward' concern is what the devs do with The Day Before. Do they put in the work, get much needed features and polish into the game? Or do they follow their previous trends of releasing early access games and abandon them a few weeks or months later? Personally, I suspect Fntastic will hold to their history and leave people who paid for the game in the dust, but it is up to them to prove us wrong.

To fight against scams, including those, you know which ones AAA companies, that make bombastic trailers than the games are half of what was promise, STOP PAYING BEFORE A GAME IS DONE. All games should have a demo, so players can decide if worth buying or not. Stop pre-order, stop paying for micro-transactions...than those greedy scammers will stop doing this as it will not be good for them anymore. The power to change back the games world from this money factory mentality back to art and quality, is in the hands of the players.

Hi, i got this game from steam 19.7$ convert in INR 1600. It's means half price i purchased. I heard 39$ to spent for this game others. I don't understand what's the difference. I have one doubt the fantastic team can develop this game in future. It's really amazing game when the trailer released so many expectations about the day before but the retailer game it's worst performance, lagging, so many issues. hence, I stopped playing.

Well everyone was saying it wasn’t real didn’t exist so it kinda forced them to push it out so they could show it was real it has changed from what they started with my opinion and recent gameplay was positive had no real issues and the sound was pretty good from what I experienced today soooo it is in development so it’s up to players to give feedback not complain about what’s current imo games should not have early access they should finish games before letting folks play I would say this is a good 4-6 years before it’s complete if it last that long just my opinion

Let's be honest... Game developers are releasing more and more games with as little as possible to see if they can sell it and make as much as possible. We're coming into 2024 and there are games that were released years ago that out shine the games being released today. It's sad but the reality of things. The technology is there to produce fascinating games. The industry just doesn't want to do it. They only want our money.

The PvP can't be that good, since players don't know where you are even when you are close to them. There is no cover system nor a dodge and no melee. It's just straight up shooting. I guess they call it the "day before" as in the day before you get your refund.

I feel the game is going to be abandoned in less than a year. I mean they advertised the game as an open world zombie survival. Then this some how released as a looter extractor. After 5 years of development it's missing waay too much to be fixed and worth even the $40 they are charging now let alone the $50 they want to charge after early access in 6-8 months. Even ignoring the bugs, or server latency issues the need for more missions and just the loop itself is too bare. The premise to go out and collect is ok but, why are people from the same survivor camp killing each other? It would make sense if we we all from different camps and were competing for the supplies or if the quests were whoever turned in first got the reward. The game just feels like they rushed to create something, slapped a EA tag on it to get money, then delay it more later citing need for more improvements, then just abandon it like they did every other game they've made.

I'm sorry Skillz, but hells no and I am working on getting my refund. The game was trash, alarms going off which you couldn't turn off,.no ZOMBIES, but a few. Getting shot from someone from somewhere is beyond me. This game had 2 years and they decide to put on the steam under a specific category, but it was trash period. Fantastic just made a good 1 million off of us and was given a piece of trash game. This was a cash grab and we got robbed.

The graphics are a let down for me. I'm comparing to the initial footage we saw of the 2 guys getting out of the truck in this very well lit, realistic, and well textured city. The game initially looked hyper realistic but what I'm seeing is more on the level of Division graphics. Actually the Division looks a little better and put more into the texture work of wood, metal, and glass objects. What I'm seeing in the game play is more watered down texture work and lighting compared to what we saw initially. The reflection and gloss in metal objects is a bit dull. In the rooms, why is the light effecting the counter tops, register, and floor the same. There is no distinguishing specularity to make you feel this object is metal, that object is wood, that object is plastic or glass. Everything is just matte. The best texture work is on the street itself. The light seems to effect all textures the same whether metal, wood, or glass in the interior causing rooms to look very flat and dull. The character's clothes and weapons need to seriously have the texture quality enhanced. When playing Ghost Recon Breakpoint, you can see the different textures in fabric and weapons. The fabric all looks smooth like there are no bump and normal maps. When you zoom in through the sights you can see that the clothes look smooth. The weapons don't have that gun metal look. I do 3D animation for a living, so excuse me for being so hard on the texture work. But the graphics are not giving me next gen, ps5 vibes. I feel like this is a new release on PS4 or 3 at best. And they are absolutely wrong for the lack of effort in the character's hair. Everything just looks flat and dull. This game needs MORE WORK.

Exactly... This game was in development for 5 years. This is a terrible game, it was supposed to be a ground breaking MMO, but it's nothing like that, it's an Extraction Shooter. Also, the world is dead, not many zombies around, not much to do... If the servers are always full, why is it so empty when people join in? With this being Early Access, they will probably abandon it like they did with other Early Access games they launched. Grab enough money and split... they've done it before.

I actually enjoyed it. The bugs, big faces were so funny that they made me laugh and had serious moments fighting in a 3v3 gun fight at one point. Needs work, but the game has/had potential to be something great.

The game definitely has a good base implemented but from what I’ve seen from your stream and this video, it just looks so empty and kinda bland. A lot of browns and grays everywhere. I really hope they get it to where this game could be. A few games have released poorly but were fixed over time and i hope this is one of them.
