I would agree on a 99.9% level, though I think the Lendl, Wilander, Edberg, Becker, Courier, Agassi, Cash , Chang Stich & a few others had enormous depth; my Question is do u think the Nadal, Novak, Fed era was a bit "light" on parity or is it a case of 3 guys dominating a really good group of rivals, that included Murray, Nalbandian , Hewitt, Roddick ? I tend 2 think there was a little less depth: what's your viewpoint ?

@@csracingreport2024 I think previous era was stronger in terms of competition, there has been more champion players to face each other, Lendl, Sampras, McEnroe, Agassi, Becker, Wilander, Edberg, Courier, Chang, Muster (and some more), they all played in the same era and all of them were champions. @@csracingreport2024 Rivalries are the most important driving force of any sport. Great rivals push each other to new heights, to evolution. In this sense, we could say that the Big 3 is a much more important "entity" so to speak, than Rafa, Roger and Novak considered alone. We could also say that they are 3 Goats in their respective most notable qualities. No one will ever play such a beautiful tennis as Federer, he is the Goat of tennis as an art. Novak is such a beast on clay. He's beaten Nadal multiple times on Clay, the best is obviously 2021 FO but the one I remember most was the 2015 drubbing of Nadal at the FO...and this is just clay. Novak dominates on grass and hard courts. that's why he will go down as the GOAT.
@funnyduck45682 жыл бұрын
I disagree his best is 2021 FO, sure the highest profile victory as it’s semi in a slam but it wasn’t as high quality as some other ones plus it was against an injured Rafa. This was a better match imo
@vultur3112 жыл бұрын
@@funnyduck4568 Nadal wasnt injured. He almost bagelled Novak in first set lol. Rafa's game is heavily depending on physical game. It was a battle of 4h and if you injure yourself playing like Nadal that is not excuse anymore. Novak would beat him this way or another

2008 hamburg was a close match,2009 monte Carlo and 2009 madrid was epic but still Nole choked somehow ....2011 Peak Nole destroyed Rafa In Madrid and Rome....clearly Rafa was lucky not to face Nole that year at RG...2012 RG also Nole lost first 2 sets but then won 8 consecutive games and was a break up in the 4th set and had the momentum but rain saved Rafa and the next day Rafa triumphed...in 2013 Nole beat a healthy Rafa at monte Carlo and was unlucky at RG with netcord ....but still some Rafa fans say Nole can beat only injured Rafa on clay
@natoskull22 жыл бұрын
Pre-2011 Nole was still suffering from his untreaten coeliac disease, he always went breathless middle-match in a lot of his games... after that, when he treated his disease in 2011 we all know what happened. I would've loved Nole to be healthy since he got in the tour (2004), his now more than incredible career would maybe be still brighter.

After this 8-year title defence ended here, Rafa would not reclaim a title victory at this event again until 3 years later and went on to successfully defend this title for another 2 years before losing to a new eventual champion. He has yet to reclaim this title ever since when COVID hit.
