idk why but Vigilante Deku arc felt so short. As amazing as it was to see Deku finally light up and realize just how he matters to so many people, it was also really cool seeing him act off on his own like a lone hero. It may sound unpleasant, but part of me just wants to see him walk a lonely path a little longer and get to meet more Tartarus escapees, show off his quirks more, and learn much much more about the past of the hero society and why the peace they were keeping was so fragile

IMO this arc should have moved towards Deku getting away from Class A-1 and probably Stain finding him passed out. A little bit more of Deku seeing the collateral damage in Japan and learning from Stain that sometimes Killing could be the answer

That would make a phenomenal fanfiction or fancomic, actually. Izuku would have to be really broken to accept that, though! It strays very far from his morals, but Lady Nagant did open his eyes a little too. In Western comics, these sort of "what-ifs" actually get explored quite a bit!

I will say, I really love this arc, but I think it might be for less traditional reasons (if that makes any sense). I personally love it because while this is Deku at his coolest, it’s also him at his lowest. It highlights a lot of his flaws and stuff like that, and I really appreciate this arc for doing so. It honestly made me like Deku way more than beforehand, which was already a lot.

I liked this arc a lot, but it being so short keeps me from loving it. For an arc that had a drastic shift in Deku's character, it felt like it was rushed and didn't stick around long enough to feel like Deku was on the brink. Deku's character change doesn't feel completely warranted, not from a pacing standpoint IMO. My only hope is the anime expands on some of the short encounters Deku has and lets us see Deku really slip into darkness.

Now that this arc is animated, it was god damn amazing. The english dub especially for me. The dub did such a great way to make Deku sound more tired, stressed, angry, furious compared to his japanese voice. The sub made him seem more calm and fine. But the dub did an amazing job. I loved this arc so much. An emotional ride, but a necessary one. Too bad it did not last too long

This is why I think MHA stands over most Shonen. Usually the MC has this amazing mind set already that everyone will eventually submit to. But for Deku he not only learns to see the world as it is, but understands that there can be a different future and that the solution lies within simply trying to reach out to end the extremism and that ultimately his idealism was part of the problem. I came back to this vid because I’m too lazy to reread right now be fore it will kick up, but now I’m still gonna do it. 😢 maaaaan

Something I had not thought up until now is that, I hope Deku's voice changes a little bit in this arc. At least gotta sound a bit muffled given that he's wearing the mask most of the time but I also expect to hear a bit of a deeper voice at least, especially in the second half of this arc. Personally, (and especially for the recent manga chapters) I wished Horikoshi had added paced out this particular arc. Deku had just learned how the hero society he grew up comfortable living in wasn't self-sufficient. It was creating more bad than good. This arc was the perfect arc to allow him to understand some villains only became one because it was the decision they were bottlenecked into. (Poor education/acceptance on dangerous quirks, mutant quirks, being abandoned without no one around helping, etc.) Nagant was a perfect example of showcasing how the hero commission only let the public see what they want to see. Now that the commission is gone, Deku should've met at least one more villain who were victims to this false image. Learning more about this from the victim perspective would force him to understand why Shigaraki is destroying everything that was built to reject someone like him. As well as why the League of Villains are really fighting. Up until now, he has only seen them as villains who banded together with the wish to destroy everything All Might created/built up. He never understood why exactly there are people out there who are highly against it. But with the blanket uncovered, it would make perfect sense to him. Deku himself would realize the entire fundamental structure of what makes a hero society has to change, not realizing that by doing it all himself, he is ironically following the path All Might did that started it all. After that, THEN introduce Class 1-A who would bring him back and show him Deku shouldn't burden all of it on his own.

The Vigilante Arc is still one of my favorite Story arcs in MHA because it shows how much Izuku developed as a character and a True Hero because it's still weird that a 16 year old boy can do better than these *Pro-heroes* who are just sitting around doing nothing when things got serious and worse even giving up like cowards just like what Death-Arms did because he wasn't a true hero when they lost against Tomura and the rest of the league with all the innocent people and children including police officers and heroes especially little children and babies who sadly lost their lives and their loved ones are Just devastated and traumatized because of the Villians, it's like what Tom said from toonami "Sometimes the bad guys win".

Didn't know that this was a mix of your other videos but it was a fun watch as I haven't seen the others in their entirety. The fights seem to be pretty cool, and the context really helps as DB recently did their DB with Deku vs Asta and they just said he's bested Muscular, Lady Nagant and the entire class of 1-A which while impressive, I felt skeptical about so seeing how only defeated Muscular with that single strike with an assist from Grand, and how Lady Nagant was holding back during their fight. With how Deku fought both Muscular and Lagant, it's nice to see that he's learning from the situation, he understands that the present crisis is the direct result of the false peace he took for granted. Nagant questioning him about if he means to just bring back more of the same is a good point as she more then anyone, knows the evil and blood it was built on and doesn't wish to see such a world return so Deku has to prove to her that he wants to create something better, that he wants to turn the fantasy the heroes sold society into a reality. Shame she blew up, but it would make sense for AFO to have such a fail-safe as someone willing to kill for heroes isn't going to just flip so easy. Class 1-A tracking him down and convincing both him to return to UA and then Uraraka convincing the people to allow him to stay was wonderfully done in my opinion as it wasn't so much a fight as it was an intervention as Bakugo, more then anyone doesn't want Deku to become like All Might as even the man in question as finally realized just how self destructive his choices were as now he's in the same position that Nighteye was in when he refused to allow others to pick up the slack while he rested. The fact the man could still put the fear of God into with a look is just peak All Might. Deku and All Might always seemed like a hero version of Might Guy and Rock Lee, so it's great to see that unlike Lee who took after his master in almost every way, Deku's being shown a better path then the one his mentor took which to any mentor would be great as the whole point of teaching the youth is to ensure that they do better then you and avoid the same mistakes you made. One of those mistakes would be placing all the weight of the world on your shoulders as it doesn't help you, or society in the long-run. If I had to theorize about what changes we could see after the heroes defeat the PLF, it would be that the issues that created the league would get addressed and dealt with. People would be encourage to be their own heroes in small ways, there would be more emphasis on getting people to understand and tolerate the side-effects quirks can bring and help get people affected by their quirks professional help and if need be, transferred to safe-loving homes. They would do more to combat racism against mutants. Quirk Laws may be adjusted to fit the modern times as they have seemingly gone unchanged since they first came into being over 100 years ago. Maybe even do away with the whole hero ranking system.

I did like Dekus choice, mostly cause I felt he ignored everything around him. But as many people like me jut realize, that is Dekus biggest character flaw and it’s not necessary a wrong choice either Shouldering responsibility The thing that made the finale of this tire mentally breaking Deku arc worth it was not just his friends being there Not just Ochako greatest speech It was the proof that no one should be a New All Might the old way One for All, that is just it, together they are strong. And that was the greatest lesson Deku had to learn here. So even if it was exhausting and sad to see Deku being pushed around by AFO, the end results made. Worth it I am deeply connected to thoose sort of moments, when a character realizes they truly are not alone. Some say “but he was never alone” I’ll say “when you have a disorder like me or many things more, it’s not easy to realize that one is never alone”
