Not just a giant amongst musicians, a giant amongst human beings. One of the most joyous, open, knowledgeable cats I ever met. Rest well, JD.

Miles was a cool cat. Someone on the full video of this show called him uninteresting and boring to talk to. Shows how little they know of Miles.

That trumpeter must've been CRUSHED. U talkin to me but u immediately dismiss me 2 ask bout another musician?! 😥 On another note talent always notices talent. Joey Defrancesco was chosen by Miles. That in itself is a testament 2 his gifts.🙂

WHAT, did Miles have his own show?? Agh Miles chooses the white ( I mean most talented) kid out of all those young cats. Pure geniuses.

Haha, sure seem like it! I think this was a Philly public access station.

No. This was Bill Boggs’ show out of NY. Miles was the guest.

Poor trumpet player. Just instantly dismissed by a jazz legend. 😜

He used that dismissive anger, and turned it to negative hate towards his arch nemesis, Miles Davis. That day onwards, he became, Wynton Marsalis.

Wynton comment is funny, but in reality the kid here is John Swana, who later became an elite trumpet player. The product he asked Miles about, the EVI, helped him continue playing after he had a tumor and couldn't play the regular trumpet anymore. He's the world's best EVI player.

Miles just wanted the best musicians,he couldnt care less if he came across as dismissive or rude.
