They allowed him to live and didn't take him seriously about what would happen to them for them kidnapping him. Had they either taken him seriously and let him go immediately where nothing would happen to them, or killed him once it would be too late for that, then they would've been fine, or been captured by those who came to rescue him but where they would know that at least he's dead. I find this story depressing because he warned them about what would happen, and they didn't take him seriously, and were foolish enough to let him live once it would be too late for him to not have anything happen to them, only for him to make their lives much worse once he was rescued. They showed mercy on him while they had him kidnapped, yet he didn't show mercy on them once the tables were turned. I'm not saying that them kidnapping him was right, or that them killing him would've been right, especially since it seems he didn't do anything that bad yet, but still, had you been one of those pirates, and had you known what's good for you where you didn't want that person to make your life a lot worse, then you would have known to either let them go immediately where they do nothing to you, or kill them once it would be too late for that, or perhaps maim them where their life would horrible from that point on so you would know that even if they made your life absolutely horrible for you kidnapping them, at least you'd know that they would suffer for the rest of their days as well.

Ridiculous bullshit. It's literally historically impossible to have happened.... Since the romans had no boarders with India, and that small Indian kingdom from this mythical and historically disputed figure of vikramaditya - if he really exited- would neither have the military nor logistical ability to send a raiding fleet on a sea route that won't be discovered for another 1000+ years, just to capture a young rich roman who hasn't achieved much of significance as of yet.
