It was that time when Karakurt understood she didn´t have to carry all the responsibility by herself. We are very happy for the Turkish team; Melissa was the missing piece of an already good team.

Curious if they identify as male or female? What are their pronouns?

why the curiosity? Are you asking about pronouns because they have short hair? I think I can safely make one assumption. Your upbringing involved some gendered language. Turkish is a genderless language. Which is why I find people's obsession with gender pronouns absurd. Not all people around the world make this "he" or "she" distinction. But you obviously do, and for me and other turkish and genderless language folks, it's so strange for this to even be a thing! Hope one day you all catch up to a good chunk of the world that has genderless language! (by the way, if you're curious, the pronoun in Turkish is "O" and that includes the verb "to be" ---So if you say "O küçük" that could mean "She is small (or young, if a person)" or "he is small" or "it is small.") Basically to ask people of Turkish culture what their pronouns are, you are forcing them to try to look at the world like you do and to classify themselves the way you think the world should be classified. That presumes alot. I bet they dont even have time to date, much less try to think the way indo-europeans or other gender-based languages think. Peace out

Turkish pronouns are gender free. There is no he or she. Both are the same . We dont care about their gender issues. They are great athletes
