The whole “Trans panic” talking point is pure bullshit anyway, least in the way they are describing it, it doesn’t give a person a free pass to “murder trans people” Reality is we differentiate between murder charges based on intent. This is why we have murder 1-3, so usually the “trans panic defense” is used to try to plea from a first degree murder charge to a third arguing that Persuing a romantic/sexual relationship with expecting your partner to be one gender, and their not puts one in a unusual state of mind which is what third degree is. Agree/disagree whatever but that’s what the argument is So not only is she humorless, she’s also has no clue what she’s talking about.
@thehecticchannel80543 жыл бұрын
...so the logic is that if a person finds out their sexual/romantic interest is trans they don't have to face the same consequences of murdering them? Seems skewed when women can go to jail for life for killing men that sexually assault them, hold them hostage, or beat them. where's their "rape/abuse panic" clause? i think everyone decent knows the "trans panic" thing is complete bullshit. it just lets transphobes get away with murder, which literally has happened before and resulted in murders who tortured trans people get reduced sentences.

That means that any other person in your situation can understand why something like that could drive you to harm and even kill someone. It doesn't excuse it and you still go to prison, you're just found guilty of a lower degree of murder. This is why we have varying degrees of murder. What this Karen is referring to falls under a crime of passion. It's well documented psychologically that passion can cause you to do things that you wouldn't normally do. So if you're in a situation where passion is already running high, it's psychologically understandable how that passion can shift quickly to cause a person to do more harm than intended. According to you if someone spends months planning to murder their spouse for an insurance payment they should get the same punishment as the father that killed the person that molested their child. Fortunately that's not how our judicial system works. You fail to understand that everyone in capable of murder given the right circumstances. Edit: You're also saying a woman that kills her extremely abusive husband because he's going to kill her should also be sent to prison for life or sentenced to death. Please inform any defense attorney of this if you're ever on jury duty.

This whole, “trans-panic” legality is a blatant misrepresentation of the actual truth. The most blatant example of this seems to be a guy who was charged with 2nd-degree murder instead of 1st-degree premeditated murder after killing his friend who came out on Jenny Jones, admitting he had a crush on his friend while describing the sexual fantasies he’d had about him. A couple of days later, he found a sexually explicit note at his door which seemed to be the final straw leading him to kill this guy. He ended up turning himself in to the police immediately after the crime. Looking at the details of the case, it seems to have more to do with his perceived embarrassment and betrayal of his friend on national television; when he’s first told this information on the show, he looks at his friend and says, “you lied to me.” Either way, this guy didn’t, in any way, get away with this murder. The definition of 2nd-degree murder is the most accurate description of the crime committed, which is why he was convicted of that charge.

@Mandingy243 жыл бұрын
Yeah even a quick search brings you to a handful of legal sites discussing what it is. This lady is sensationalizing by saying it's "legal" to commit homicide against a trans individual for the sole reason they are trans. That's not how it works at all. It's basically an additional defense used to get a lesser sentence. It seems to almost always be when a trans woman (M-F) that hasnt fully transitioned, solicits sex from a male. These situations happen at a rate that would be considered a statistical zero, but it's basically a form of non-consent. Although this should really go without being said, nobody's justifying the death's of these people. It's definitely an extreme reaction, but it also doesn't excuse the inaction of not being honest in the first place.

She says “Would you have made this video if that person’s skin color is what changed?” Uh. Yeah. He probably would. That’d be hilarious. Also, the map this person keeps referring to isn’t specific to trans people. It actually historically refers to gay people. And the defense itself (meaning the actual reason it helps the defendants case) has very little to do with whether or not the person is trans. It actually has more to do with assault in general, and this includes gay and transgender people, but could be applied to any unwelcome sexual advances, from literally anyone, regardless of gender identity.

I really wonder how "trans murder" is more aggravating than just the murder part. Someone was killed, forget who they were or thought they were, or who did they sleep with, a life has been ended
@Selrisitai3 жыл бұрын
@@sparking023 The law is nuanced to account for reasonable excuse. If someone plans out and executes your murder, that's first degree because you are more dangerous of an individual, and you have less excuse, than someone who kills a person with whom he was in an argument that got violent, and that person has less excuse than someone who fell and stabbed someone by accident. It would be unfair to treat someone who kills a man who raped his daughter with the exact same punishment as someone who took a girl home and strangled her to death so he could get off sexually. Likewise, if you take a "girl" home, become intimate, and then discover you were tricked into doing an act that you would otherwise never even consider doing, and you get angry, then obviously it's illegal and immoral to kill that person, but it's not treated with the same malice as hopping onto the sidewalk in your Ford F-150 and pretending you're playing Grand Theft Auto. Saying, "But someone is still dead!" isn't particularly useful, since by that logic every soldier who has been on the front-lines is guilty of murder. "But that's different." Of course it is; you have an opinion. But then, accidentally killing someone is murder by your argument. Or killing someone intentionally while they are threatening your family would be murder. So you gotta decide precisely what murder is first, and whether all murder, by that definition, is equally punishable.
@sparking0233 жыл бұрын
@@Selrisitai i see the nuances of law, and to me the current standards are already covering the leeways we could have. What I find myself questioning in these cases is how does being a trans person factors in the severity of the crime. Like, should we give these people a special treatment? Is this what the ehole point of equality is? It may be the way people from the Alphabet Gang present their points, but I feel like their idea is that I should be more horrified and shocked by a trans being killed, compared to a "normal" person

I love how this girl thought she had a point with the map that says which states have "the trans-panic defense" still legal but she intentionally words it in a way that means "you can kill trans people without punishment." All that map says is that they can use the defense in those states, whether or not the defense works is another matter entirely. Most of the time, the defense doesn't work and on the few times it does, it almost soley results in a shorter sentence rather than a full acquittal. Sure, there's probably one or two people who got a full acquittal but to pretend that is normal in the states she highlighted is nothing short of dishonest.

Trans is the top of the progressive stack; think of it as a game of rock, paper, scissors but for “oppression”. Trans is rock. It always wins.

When he's making fun of himself for being a cripple it's ok for us to laugh. But when he makes a joke about a certain thing she cares about she's mad. Damn the double standards on her is beyond human stupidity.

Back then we were taught that words will never hurt us, defined by our actions, discipline, will, and ourselves. Now we’re being taught social media teaching them to value comments, likes, and only like minded people.

She's the type that if you were walking down the street without a mask, but you're 50ft or more from her, on the opposite side, she'd cross the street to get in your face and tell you that you're threatening her health.

I look at that map and I think: hmm, states in yellow appear to all be run by adults and don't generally (Minnesota not withstanding) have massively soaring crime rates.

This video was like a wake up call for me. It just brought together all the observations of these types of people, “karens” “SJWS” how they are egotistical simple robots that abuse trans people and any actual struggles they may come across as a tool to boost their own ego. They act as knights to protect trans people as if to her and others trans people aren’t really human beings, but pets to protect - so let’s just take situations where they are discriminated against legitimately and ignore it to attack a comedian who was mutually sharing humor with another comedian - one who wasn’t even making any attack against trans people. It just baffles me that she even brings race into that where it doesn’t even apply because to her it’s an American PC situation. They really are simple robots with no awareness or connection to human social complexity. They reduce themselves to exactly that.

I don't think she actually finds Ricky funny, but because he's disabled she thinks she *has* to find him funny otherwise she'd be labelled as ableist or something.

@@theloathsomedungeater248 I find some of his stuff funny, but a lot I don't. But that is because I don't find body humor all that amusing. Example, I can't stand Will Farrell. Doesn't mean that other people should not though. To each their own sense of humor, so I agree with you.
