It would be awesome to see a video showing a comparison between these new DCB Js and Ps against their AG relatives. It's hard to judge the tone only by hearing this video, especially as the bass is going through Aguilar's tube amp. But yeah, they do sound amazing :-)

Sounds great. A shame that two years later, and there are only two examples of these J pickups on youtube. Would have through there would have been a lot more examples of them.

Thanks for the feedback! We can create more playing example videos of the DCB-J pickups. Are there any other pickups you'd like to hear?

@@AguilarAmplification one solid, dedicated video to it would be great! I did find one more vid where your guys demonstrate it against other J's. But to hear it DI, with a broad array of tones, pickup configurations and playing styles in one video together to really soak it in would be beneficial for the customer. Been lost in a sea of options for weeks! Ain't going to lie, EMGs easy solderless install on their JVX got me tempted.

Jordan, great playing. And the pickups sound great too! I'm digging the p-bass sound.

Love the sound on both, especially on those p style pickups. I just have trouble getting my hands on a pair of 4PJ.

The pickups sound great, but I wish you would have taken more time with each bass to hear all settings. The Spector Coda is active and passive (I believe) and would have been great to hear it in both modes. Thanks

Just curious, in this video is there an OBP preamp in the bass? What tone / amp settings are being used? (I’m going to buy these pickups, just curious :)

Our DCB pickups have a high output, and due to the ceramic bar design, have fantastic harmonic top-end content and sustain. Also, they are a passive pickup, so they take very well to effect pedals.

The screw holes don't like up on these pickups if you have a Fender J bass, at least not on my American standard

Are the j-bass pups true hum cancelling? I have tried other pups claiming to be hum cancelling but you still hear that 60 cycle hum unfortunately.
@JohnFoxBass3 жыл бұрын
Yes, these particular J pickups are fully hum canceling. They are dual coil pickups.
@DiogoBaeder3 жыл бұрын
They are, yes. I have a J bridge one as my bridge pup and it's really quiet when it comes to 60Hz hum (this doesn't mean that the bass is free from picking up noise, though, depending on your situation - bass shielding quality, amount of RFI in your place etc).

Save your money. They are the weirdest things. Changed my pots and everything. They drop out at full volume and sould super lousy in pairs. Where they got the idea someone would want these are beyond me.😢
