The Deaconess, Girl Alter servers, Women Orthodox Serving The Church

Epic. Thanks for making this very clear. They’re playing games with the word “deaconess” in order to confuse ignorant Orthodox. The deaconesses weren’t ordained clergy. Full stop. Only men can be ordained clergy. Their long-term goal is female priests. This isn’t an open issue. From the OT, only men can be priests. Also, not every man can be clergy anyway. So it’s not open to all men. A lot of the women pushing this, like Carrie Frost, have obvious issues with men.

Thank you so very much for this video! I don’t think you could have said it any better than you did on this subject of women serving in the altar, my brother in the Lord! I am an Orthodox woman and I would be very uncomfortable if young or old women served in the altar. I was very blessed when you talked about we would lose our focus on the Liturgy if we were serving in the altar and wouldn’t be able to put our full focus on the reason we are there in the first place and as I thought more deeply on what you were saying, I had to agree completely with your thoughts. I actually feel very secure and safe knowing the men are called to serve and lead the church into worship and a male Priest is given a special position over the church to serve the Holy Communion, body and blood of Christ to us. Thank you for pointing out the special place the Lord has placed us women in, in the church. It truly is our high calling to be fully focused on the Liturgy and our Lord God, when we walk into the sanctuary. Bless you!

I agree with your assessment of the reinstatement deaconess being a bad idea

Λέγει ἡ μήτηρ αὐτοῦ τοῖς διακόνοις(= diakonois, assistants at the tables) John 2: 5. Διάκονοι means assistants they were assistants at the tables, in the Cristian era in the agape dinner and had nothing to do with the priesthood. Phoebe, Stephen the first Martyr etc.
