It is completely on public streets with no additional work done, there is not any run off areas or enough crash barriers for every turn. It is truly the best and bravest that race their both competitors and spectators take huge risks every year. A quote from one of the racers once was 'you are going so fast all you see are grey and green blurs, i just try and stay within the grey'

Well you say that, throughout the years they've done tons of road works for the sake of TT safety like widening the roads and even demolishing certain homes. They don't do that anymore because it's all been done already but I'd assume they do really good maintenance on the course sections. But yeah the best crash protection you'll get is a haybale if you're lucky

Of course its on public roads just looking at the footage you shouldn't even need to ask. Yes the course roads are shut during racing, pets kept indoors etc the whole island cooperates for the event.

Michael Dunlop, who is mentioned in this video still races after losing his uncle, father, and brother to the sport. His uncle was the great Joey Dunlop who holds the record for most TT wins at 26. He was a founding member of the Armoy Armada which also included Joey's brother Jim, brother-in-law Merv Robinson and friend 'Big' Frank Kennedy. Out of the four only Jim survives. Frank Kennedy was killed at the 1979 North West 200 in Northern Ireland and Merv Robinson was killed also at the North West 200 in 1980. Joey Dunlop (Michael's uncle) won his 26th and last TT in 2000 and a week later lost his life in a road race in Tallinn, Estonia. Robert Dunlop, Joey's brother and William and Michael Dunlop's dad, was killed at the 2008 North West 200 where 2 days later Michael won an emotional race that his father was favourite to win. William Dunlop, Robert's son and Michael's brother was killed in 2018 at the Skerries 100 after saying to Michael that he was thinking of retiring as his girlfriend/wife was expecting their first child. For someone to go through all that heartache and pain and still want to do it and be proud that he is keeping the Dunlop name alive needs all the respect he gets and shows why he is one of the favourite riders in the sport.

The man at 9:;25, Guy Martin, took a bike he built himself in his shed to Pikes Peak for a tv show, and despite problems with a misfire on the top half of the mountain, he won his class. Although he's been 2nd or 3rd 17 times he's never won a TT. The roads are closed 30minutes before a race, and there is an army of marshals all around the course for safety reasons, also an air-ambulance on standby.. You can see a POV of the absolute lap record set last year by Peter Hickman of 136+mph.

9:43 Because it wasn't explained in the video, I'll let you know what that thing on the back is. It's called a "speed hump," because when the rider is in a full racing tuck with their chin literally an inch above the top of the tank, that hump joins up with the back of their helmet and smooths the airflow over the rider. If there was no hump there, the "dead air" behind the helmet would suck in the air going over it, creating drag. If you've ever seen a semi-trailer or box truck in snow, and see the snow come off the top then get sucked back towards the back of the truck, the hump gets rid of that.

These are normal public roads that the residents use when the race isn't happening. In fact, if you go, you can ride or drive on the track in between race sessions. That being said, the roads that make up the course are particularly well maintained. There are a lot of roads on the island that are in much worse condition, but these specific roads are very well groomed. This is an annual race, and the entire event lasts two weeks, with the first week a series of practices and qualifiers, and the second week holds the various races. The entire island gears up for the race, and it is something that they all take pride in. There isn't enough lodging for all the spectators, so most people camp, and the island has designated camping spots scattered around the course. Many spectators arrive on their own bikes with camping equipment strapped to the bikes. This island, while being a part of the UK commonwealth, is self governing in a lot of ways. This event is something that could never happen in the UK proper, or most anywhere else in the developed world, but here on the island, it can. There have been many calls to ban the race, mostly from the UK and EU governments, but the island's unique autonomy has allowed the island's authorities to buck those calls and continue on. Fun fact: The Isle of Man is the only place in Europe, outside of Germany, where they have designated roads with no speed limit. That area where we saw the dramatic crash is one of them.

I fully agree. We’re not the best reactors out there but I personally like us just because so many out there are fake and do watch things beforehand, and do so many things just for the views. We obviously want views. This is an income for us. But we’re not willing to do certain things other reactors are, like just being phony. Appreciate your nice comment. If you can send the link to that video, I’d appreciate it! 🙂

The TT is held every year, last week in May, and the first week in June. Practice 1st week and racing 2nd week. The grey blur quote is from Joey Dunlop ( RIP ), who died racing doing the thing he loved most. If you're a fairly good rider, it'll take you 3 years to learn every corner bump and hump. And another 5 years to master it. 8 years total to be really, really great on the course. Plenty of stuff available to watch about the TT, i recommend Peter Hickman full lap pov chin cam. And Mark Higgins 2016 driving a Prodrive Subaru STI race spec rally car 4x4. Again pov gopro, with running commentary and groovey graphics on the screen. Heart rate bmp, g force, speed, rpm, gears, course map, and elevation. Both these videos are new lap records in their own rights. Enjoy more of us Brits favourite race in the world. You'll be hooked by the end, and booking your next vacation to Britain. Remember the Island although part of Britain its self governed and a tax haven, hence why theres no speed limits on the open roads. 👍👍👍👍👍😁😁

Motorcycle wrecks are funny. Guy crashed at around 115mph, broken back, arm, and dislocated knee. I crashed at less than 35mph broken knee, broken arm, broken neck (c1 vertebrae), 7 broken ribs, collapsed right lung, in a coma for 4 days. I know safety equipment for racers and such but i mean god damn really?

Roads ofc do some fixes before the race like some major holes and shafts but still on practice day your job is to examine everything and drive fast as you can. This race is not for money (they give em pennies for that race) Its glory you are after. Even pro bikers shit pants here its not for everyone. Also i think (dont put my word for counting) most deaths are from ppl next to road over dead bikers. That machine flying just a bolt or piece of metal/plastic can kill you. Im going this year for first time to have a blast before this race end forever ! Wish me luck :D

Road course for TT Races is the main public road for Isle of Man. I think late May and early June is usually dates for these races. There are different classes of races such as superbikes to sidecars.

This is the deadliest race in the World, it's against the clock, with 10 seconds between each rider, the fastest rider after 6 laps wins, there's a tyre charge and refuelling on the 3rd lap, they have one week to train and one week of racing, in different categories, the roads are all public, going through villages and a mountain road, the top speed is almost 220 mph maybe a bit more, this is held on the last week of May and the first week of June, if you want to go, you have to book at least one year before, then to get accommodation you have to have a good bank account. 😅
