I would end up having to settle just knowing there's another out there, and then I would feel sad again because they would be out forever with no likely probability of both happiness and a variable stream of consciousness analog.. they exist.. The cruelty of course is the compatibility of that in the misery involved lol.. I love that is superpower is autism though.. it's like if you combine autism plus confidence, you get.. I guess Jack reacher technically? This guy's actually not that far off lol.. He's got a different approach to his autism.. But basically the same job and largely the same pop culture skill sets in different avenues and tastes.. probably some different combat skills but.. ain't seen Jack reach or need to deal with supernatural shit so it'll work out.. The weird thing about the first game is that people are okay with this lol.. it's like like autism super fantasy, and I want it so bad, I'm not even that autistic just ADD if anything what's the OCD. But I can roll with the autism.. they can't always roll with me lol.. But he could obviously that's that's what he does lol.. He's got his human skin on, and he sure likes how it fits! The best solutions! Or always fantasies.

The driving in DP1 alone is something that needs to be experienced to be believed. Considering how much the game wants you to go around a mostly empty gigantic map to certain points of interest for sidequests, you'd think the driving wouldn't be complete absolute ass. It's like you're driving on the surface of the moon at 0 gravity but at the same time all the cars feel like slow giant trucks with stiff vile controls.
@EddieSpaghetti69 Жыл бұрын
You neglected a few key things; The driving doesn't respect controller tilts, if you try to drive like Forza you'll learn that there isn't much control over your wheels. The other drivers are drunk drivers on rails whom can be unpredictable. There is night driving with monsters. *The turning is so bad.*
@TheCatabolicTrex25 күн бұрын

I'd challenge anyone to explain what goes on during that game; it's that confusing that I might as well ask people to explain what Love or Joy or Fun is. I've heard "It's a game about police solving a crime" and "A guy about super powers" and "A cult I don't really know" and all are correct ironically. Although I do like the game I also dislike the idea that you have very little control over the actual story; everything leads to the same ending with the same people. The writing is alright, just the overall story is hard to follow because of the over-reaching concepts presented in a snowballing effect; something that does help you connect to *one* of the main characters but really should've been juxtaposed by the police slowly unraveling the case. TL:DR? *Despite all my rage, Written and Directed by David Cage.*
@JackWse5 ай бұрын
@@EddieSpaghetti69 people really liked it before David Cage became a household meme name.. I don't know I like it when it came out.. It was easy enough to follow for me, and satisfying enough to enjoy the ride that I had no idea was coming.. it's my first familiarization with what would be the assassin's Creed combat.. if I had known that I would have been sad but at the time I thought it was kind of fun and a good way to do that for that particular game... Fucking writing was on the wall though right? Full motion videos making a comeback boys and girls and all in betw. I will give credit though.. unlike assassin's Creed or Callisto protocol.. David cage at least has some sort of dialogue gameplay in his games.. and at least the dance dance revolution is presented that's what it is instead of this pretending that you're actually fighting something because of how bad the modern gamer has gotten at basic input with how much games to play for themselves.. Am I ranting right now and and is it weird that I'm starting it with a David Cage conversation? If you're not following it you weren't into it.. and that's that's fair.. It clearly wasn't for everybody and I happen to be one of the people that it might spectrumize towards I guess. I feel like the ancient conspiracy tangent was a lot less treaded back then as well.. now that we have all these large universe interconnections and we've got to explain every single piece of paper that ever happened in a wiki and have the Vatican hired out as Cannon police to go through every item... It probably seemed like a good idea at the time and kind of cool.. which kind of was... Also credit where it is due it brought back to classic adventure game feature of getting laid, something we hadn't seen since the '90s and the death of the genre.. It is what it is... And I certainly think that it has more potential than it shows and maybe if more people were doing it or maybe if less people were doing it while pretending they weren't doing it? I don't know.. that type of game is is one thing I'm not worried about in its future in gaming, as opposed to like the interactive kind and the amount of leniency people give towards that nowadays.. The logic gaps in Fahrenheit are circumstantial, not necessarily redirected and forced Even if a lot of that is probably going on in the background.. something you can get away with when you're controlling a character that has its own independent mentality.. and somewhat unique to adventure games that doesn't always translate to other games, despite that people don't seem to care that it shouldn't.. or that is a bad thing lol. The characters do the things that they do because they do the things that they do... It may not always be the best idea, it may be a Rube Goldberg version of an idea... But they're doing it lol and if it works or it doesn't work it's it's a thing... And you do have a certain amount of sway in how that goes down.. mostly in that it ends up succeeding somehow lol.. But I mean especially for that time you had a lot more options than most games of that era as the RPG had soliddly committed towards the action RPG and adventure games were basically a non thing at that point after the PS2 era for a few years.. and even then like the idea of actually having bespoke interactions was such a rarity, or that they would affect the plot necessarily.. Even though if Fahrenheit is not exactly the best example of that.. It is an example of the basics and.. That's more than most these days lol or at least it used to be.. we're starting to see that may come back and I love it. I will say though.. I love this whole discussion about what is an RPGE lol because these are not forever terms lol and the internet discussion has fed into its or a boris about this stuff and it's hilarious.. Luke I remember there being too distinct ways to describe an RPG, you either could make decisions that would affect the outcome of the story or interactions with the characters that could affect and outcomes to a degree with autonomy.. or you had an action RPG... Where you had just the character stat relationship with tabletop mechanics of its inspiration.. and you just did action game stuff with leveling and usually a facade of the interface for the regular RPG but you wouldn't actually have any sort of you know input in that regard you just do the things.. to whatever degree that would go, Diablo is obviously our our basic bitch lol.. there were better, and to be honest like the adventure game had multiple endings long before the action RPG,. Like.. if you're not playing a role what would I do if I were in this scenario, or if I were them.. It should be allowed to be called an RPG in my opinion.. But apparently that thought process has gone away forever lol and what people think is the most important part of RPGs in their video essays is you know clearly one thing very specifically and everybody else is wrong and everybody else agrees with them and and God bless him for that bubble of brilliance I wish I could be that confident in how dumb I was... My life would be so much easier and nicer and simple and I would enjoy things..

Which will help you until you get the VERY missable unlimited Magnum, and later the unlimited RPG launcher. Even then if you keep the guitar you get from the rocker guy as it will 1-2 hit kill any enemy (even the wall creature) and doesn't take damage. I tend to give it back to him later in the game.

For me the opening scene in car is so hilarious. Dude is smoking. Looking at internet. Talking on the phone and just as I was wondering this is so over the top I wonder if he will crash he crashes the car. This seems highly unintendedly funny. Like they where just giving player exposition and plot kicks in with shadowy figure. This and other elements makes this a game that is so bad its good and only one ever that has scratched my room size itch. I can see the arguments of this being somewhat more intentional. I am open to other game suggestions that are more so bad they are good but I doubt I get many.

I absolutely love SWERY as a director. I think he is phenomenal when he has limitations and people around him. All of his work during his Access Games period were absolutely great, especially D4. That was his magnum opus, in my opinion, that unfortunately had to be abandoned once he left AG. I think part of why he had so much success was because he had a team of professionals around him who kept him grounded and understood what he was trying to achieve. With White Owls he had so much creative control all of his terrible ideas are able to exist without much pushback. Sure he had The Missing which many would consider the best game he has ever made and there is merit to that. But my LORD is DP2 and TGL absolutely horrible and it’s hard to believe the same director was integral to the game’s final release. I could understand DP2 not being as strong as the first as DP was lightning in a bottle but he also didn’t have much input in the creative process as he was working on Good Life. Which makes it all the more puzzling The Good Life turned out to be so terrible. Especially when the kickstarter demo was great! I’m hoping his collaboration with Suda is a return to form. If not, I don’t see the point in playing more SWERY games which breaks my heart.

I think it gets written off by a lot of people as a cheap sequel, but there's moments of brilliance, like you said. I think we also really need to sing the praises of Jeff Kramer, the VA for York and Zach. The two characters have almost the same voice, but they have different tones. As someone who'd initially didn't see the need for a sequel, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it, mainly for its story and main cast. I still generally prefer the first game, but find much of these grievances didn't bother me near as much as others. That being said, I've got 100% in most versions of the first game, whereas I opted not to bother with most of the side content in 2 at all aside from the more major stuff. Maybe that's why I don't feel the characters are as "one note", but rather just not as crucial to building up that same sense of a living breathing town. I really enjoyed doing all the extra skateboarding stuff with Emma, the whole Creole vs Cajun stuff, bowling, fixing the pipes in the hotel, getting each of the marbles even if Avery never seemed to be at the right place at the right time to give it to me, anything to do with Chuck despite the awful aiming controls and framerate seeming to effect skipping stones, finding all the fleur de lis though I think they should have all been available to start, and the aforementioned stuff with Danny and the missing doll and all. The thing that brings that all down for me, though, is despite adding weekdays, it is hardly ever a thing, let alone the schedule in general seems to matter much less for most side content, which just has me wondering why they put so much time into that. It was especially disappointing for me finding you can't go into peoples houses or even peek through their windows, minimizing the sense you're a detective. It used to baffle me that the sequel seemed to have less time and budget put into it in these aspects, but I guess you kinda put it in a way that makes sense bringing up The Good Life and how that may have effected development. It seems more time was put into putting all the more sim-like elements into that game...something I need to get back to at some point. In any case, I'm glad you've brought this all up as I feel much the same way about the first. I mean, I feel it can very much be enjoyed in that way that you can laugh at all its mistakes, but I feel it's kind of a miracle it works as well as it does with how long it was in a weird development cycle for, and really feel it stands on its own given how differently it turns out from Twin Peaks.
