@Sajangrg69 Жыл бұрын
These gang wars are just stupid and young, gullible kids keep dying as a result till this day. Just last month, some teenager got stabbed to death in my local town. But, like they say you are the product of your environment. Some are left with very little choice, others get influenced easily and some just fall victim just by association or being from the same estate and what not. After watching some cartel execution videos made me realise how fortunate some of us are, having good upbringing and being around good people like friends and families.

most people would argue that even though rap artists and grime artists are both MC's and there can be crossover, they're different genres. while grime was starting and stayed hot for a good few years (which is awesome because the UK created that genre) UK rap itself - a competent different entity - went through its own evolution. admittedly a very slow and steady one. it went from a bit of a surrealist/conscious vibe (skinnyman, Rodney p, roots manuva, akala, even k-lash-nek-off) to the crassly named 'road rap' where it was all drugs and guns. thankfully we got some good artists out of that though. Blade Brown, Krept and Konan, Youngsta aka Yung Meth, Dubz, and of course Giggs (who's in my personal top 5 GOAT list - and the only UK guy in that list). 'road rap' never really got big but you could argue potter payper and Giggs and some others blew. but yeah basically what I'm saying is that grime was never there INSTEAD of rap. it is completely separate and has its roots in different genres than rap does.

I hate this gang shit with a passion, you ain't a gangster just a lost soul that ends up resulting in becoming a thug. Before the results you was just an average person in povertry. If you think some of these 'estates' are rough you've never stepped out in a third world country before. Selling drugs everyone does. Their isn't a particluar genre of people that sell drugs (if you think this, you clearly never been involved in that game or gone down that rabbit hole before) A gang of delinquents beating on oftenly the most vulnerable targets. Hmmm how 'gangster' are you, NOT. Just bullies that are 'lost souls' misunderstood children that esclate to doing whatever it is they can do to survive or fit in. A lot of the issues come from parenting, even then when a child cares not to listen, you know they're doing wrong, take immediate action straight away. A lot of programs out there for those who are feeling lost in themselves and confused about their life. Which is a big stem to a lot of these 'thugs' is that they are actually confused. Then silly music influences their behaviour to believe it as a norm which is indeed very scary! More than half the time, the music isn't even true, they rap lies. That's why our younger generations now are way more violent than they've ever been, the statics of rape in younger children raping other younger children as sky rocketed, how do you all not see how fucked this is? It's deeper than just selling a little sack of drugs for a bit of change You want to be a gangster? Go speak to a real one, watch them tell you being gangster is taking care of your family, providing and protecting, supporting your community and doing well for yourself in a business sense. An image of leadership is a true gangster. You love violence? Get into MMA, go into the army, you'll see more violence that will last you a life time. You want to express your emotions but can't? Write them down, find a passion to express through. Music or art is a good one! But I do want to give credit to the grime scene, garage and drum an bass. The UK rap scene as well! All because they've followed the true definition of art in music, that's painting a relfection of your society, speaking on what's real.

I'm from Australia but I'm a massive UK drill fan and I've been listening since I first discovered 67 in 2015. But I just need to know, as someone who doesn't live in London, is Brixton really that bad or is it the media who only show all the crime in the area?
@zigzung55692 жыл бұрын
No only the local authority housing estates are a bit dangerous. Brixton is now gentrified and full of white, middle class media types who for years have been buying up the housing stock in Brixton and other similar areas. Brixton is one of the best places in London for a night out as it's full of live music venues and trendy restaurants.

@@zigzung5569 wow okay. I really thought Brixton was predominantly black too

@@nocapbarnz Historically there's always been a large Jamaican population in Brixton and there still is, but in the last 10-15 years there has also been a large influx of white middle class house buyers who have moved into Brixton. Many areas in London are now the same where the predominantly white middle class have gentrified areas previously mostly inhabited by second generation black families who's parents came to London in the 1960's, 70's and 80's.

@@zigzung5569 that's mad bro. Not sure if that's supposed to be good or bad 😂🤷🏾♂️
@zigzung55692 жыл бұрын
@@nocapbarnz Yeah neither are we. The middle class gentrification of previously working class areas in London has pushed house prices and rental prices through the roof in London. It's a seriously expensive city to live in now. Yes there are dangerous areas in Brixton, but i've lived in numerous different dangerous areas in London and around serious gang members all my life and i've never had a problem. As long as you're streetwise, don't involve yourself with anything that doesn't concern you, and stay out of gang and roadlife then you'll be fine in Brixton or any other area of London.
